i CANNOT call who is going this week. and it's stressing me out.
Honestly once Aiden and Brita left the cast had ZERO FILLERS. Each queen had their specific niches and filled their roles nicely, there wasn’t any one competitor who was just strung along. Based on previous episodes alone I’m worried for Widow who seems to be regressing. I think with Gigi having been in the bottom 3 the competition just got harder to call.

This is gonna be a very patriotic episode huh
Gigi is overplaying the robot bit.
Have I missed an episode or are they not doing the reading mini challenge this season?

I think the gift basket mini challenge in pairs was this season's variation on the challenge due to the sponsor.

Anyone feel the judging was a little off this challenge? I think Widow was the right person to go both for this challenge, runway and progress in the season but no way would I have put Jackie Cox bottom two! Clearly 'Canada' was a shtick and was a much clearer concept to go with compared to some of the other girls, guess it shows a difference in American humour when Jeff asked for an answer without Canada, he was quite literal in what he wanted rather than encouraging Jackie to do the opposite

I'd have actually reversed Jaida and Jackie's position to put Jaida in the bottom two :o To me it wasn't well thought out and avoided actually being challenged on the task at hand (although I guess you could say that's more satirical than anything however I think this was accidental).

Gigi was lucky to avoid the bottom again this episode, I think she missed the mark even moreso than the previous episode. Crystal is getting stronger and stronger somehow - my fave president and second fave runway (behind Jackie ). She's slaying both runway and challenges currently!

The cynic in me feels they put Jackie in the bottom two to get a lip-sync out of her in that outfit with the intention of creating a viral moment - also an opportunity to send Widow home for good too.

This episode was a mixed bag. The challenge was a real slog, but the mini was fun & they had a really good workroom conversation AND then onstage conversation.

Interestingly I've seen a lot of love for him online but I found Goldblum a shade off insufferable this episode. He seemed to be missing cues in the script, his back and forth with the queens in the debate seemed to be floundering & not *volleying* it back with either the queens or the other judge, and then the less said about the questioning of Jackie straight after Ru had established the narrative that "America is for everyone" the better. (Was that calculated to make her cry??)

As for the elimination I'm satisfied with it. She felt like she was not in the best place, and, also she did kinda ignore the advice Ru gave her during the walkaround. It was an alarm bell then that reminded me of Jiggly's insistence to not make her funny magazine funny bc she thought it was a serious issue, even after told not to.

Re the win...yeah I really felt the disconnect with US-European humour in this episode. I didn't think the winner had that clear a platform & it was hard to tell what criteria they were being judged on. Like it seemed she got marks for satirising the Trump administration, but the highs were Heidu who played a comedy character and Crystal who played an exaggerated version of herself. Confusing, ironically. I'm not surprised Jackie did what she did bc that seemed to be what they were told to do.

Finally I found it distasteful how Sh*rry behaved once again, esp now she has been told that Crystal's dad has Parkinson's & its not a laughing matter.

I actually felt the debate was a bit flat. Jada obviously stood out

Gutted about Jackie being in the bottom 2 but definitely one of the best lip sync performances. Glad Widow has finally gone

I don't feel like any of them were especially "lmao" funny in this challenge so it was down to the judges interpretation I guess. Crystal was kind of a one-note but she got praised for it and Jackie penalised lmao. All for a good storyline.

Judges were incredible this week. Can we get Jeff appear later on again? <3

Widow going definitely was the right choice. I knew this would happen in the first seconds of that lipsync and Jackie was genius with that plastic bag idea. Also I don't get the praise for that basic runway from Widow. It was a basic dress with cutouts slapped on top lmao. Stood out from the rest, yeah, but it was giving me the Vivacious virus outfit teas and not in a good way.

Jackie's runway was breathtaking. Simple effective with an amazing story. It's baffling she hasn't won any challenges yet. She's either bottom 2 in the next two weeks and going out in 5th Katya/Nina/Cracker/BenDela style or getting a redemption arc and slaying the next two challenges and managing to sneak into the Top 4.

At this point it's hard to imagine a Top 4 have anyone other than Sh**ry, Jaida and Gigi. The remaining spot is up for grabs.

Another episode where none of the queens really done bad and we had pretty much all toots on the runway, the queens are so consistent

This was one of those challenges where I really feel like they could’ve put anyone in the top and bottom and they made us believe Widow and Gigi were doing Bad by giving them talking heads of other girls saying Widow was doing bad and showing us people not laughing at Gigi and made us think Jaida and Heidi were doing well by showing us people laugh at them

Critiquing Sherry for the old lady thing when Heidi has pretty much done the same character every week etc. as well it’s just picking and choosing when things are an issue

I do feel like Jaida done the best and deserved her win though, but I would’ve put Jackie as high and probably Widow, Sherry and Crystal as the bottom 3? Idk the rest were all pretty close

Except Heidi isn't really playing a character - I see her being Heidi

Probably my least favourite challenge of the series, I found it quite boring tbh. I agree it just feels like Jackie was bottom 2 and "criticised" just for the story of her being bottom 2 and having that moment that was strategically placed in a political episode rather than anything else :') I mean especially with that runway! The character was a bit one-note but I think trying with a character was better than whatever Gigi did (or rather, didn't do). Jackie gave EASILY by far the best lipsync we've seen this season though, chills.

I thought Jaida was funny though, in an effortless way like she didn't force it or try and force a character out, she was sharp. For me that matters more than having a clear platform or whatever, I'm wathcing the show to be entertained. Heidi and Crystal always do that anyway, I thought Jackie did well enough too tbh. Gigi and Widow should have lipsynced, plus Sh*rry using "old lady with a smoker's cough/voice and Parkinson's" as her only character really doesn't sit right with me. As said, I can't believe she knows Crystal struggles with her dad progressively getting worse with Parkinsons and still just takes that as the easy option she can do?! I don't usually want to talk about her but it's getting to the point where even if there wasn't the manipulation saga that got her disqualified, I don't think she's a person I would take to at all.

As for the guests, ADORE Rachel Bloom obv and actually I don't think Jeff was THAT bad? I think he kind of didn't know what was really going on in the debate and that didn't help, they should have probably have Raven in for that too instead. His comment to Jackie I don't think was meant with malicious intentions, but it certainly came out clunkily and to be honest my cynical side thinks that was all part of setting up Jackie's convieniently placed moment in a political episode.

Except Heidi isn't really playing a character - I see her being Heidi

100%, and I think that's one of the greatest strengths a queen can have! Crystal is similar, they don't really have to try that much they're just naturally warm and funny and you're drawn to them. Whereas with Sh*rry's "character" you do see she is clearly hiding behind that constructed character who is not her.

Except Heidi isn't really playing a character - I see her being Heidi

I suppose that's fair, I took it more as like they want variation from some people but not others, but I get that Sh*rry's is more of a character

A more accurate critique for Sh*rry could be that she's used the "I'm going to feed you with pie and fill you up" analogy like 4 times now

That challenge wasn't great overall, but agree with all of the results. Jaida winning was deserved, she made me laugh throughout and even if it was improvised and unplanned, she still pulled it off.

Gigi and Jackie ending up in the bottom was deserved too. Gigi was definitely becoming complacent. Jackie's reliance on the same one thing throughout the whole challenge was... not entertaining or funny. Her runway was very nice, but other than that I'm finding her so off-putting in recent weeks.

Gigi had a promising character with the “I’m not a robot, I’m a human!” trope but unfortunately it was like she drew blanks and it didn’t really go anywhere. Jackie had a good joke but unfortunately she ran into the problem of rehashing the same joke which ended up being monotonous. Her runway told such a beautiful story; while I do get that there are a lot of issues when it comes to some Islamic countries and their treatment of the LGBTQIA+, Jackie’s piece was supposed to portray freedom of religion, a fundamental right as said by the Constitution. Despite the gray areas and the cultural confusion, Muslim American citizens such as her mother are just as valid as any other citizen, and that should be the standard for any religion.

I agree with the judges on that Widow’s seemed too angry, but at the same time I don’t agree that this type of character is hard to satirize. I knew exactly what Widow was going for, but like Gigi she needed to give more intense movements to give it a more comedic aspect. If you look at SNL, a good chunk of their opening skits are political satire, and that would have been something Widow could have gone to as a reference if she wanted to see what level of intensity she needed to bring while playing a more accurate character. I also think that Widow made a brave choice and it painted a picture of how angrier society got after Trump was elected.

can we also talk about how much more FUN and quite enjoyable to watch the judging panel was this week without bloody Michelle there?
