So we kick off this Survivor by kicking out one of two Gareth Gates singles immediately. B-) Gareth was the runner-up to Will Young on the first season of Pop Idol back in 2001-02 and his cover of 'Unchained Melody' was his first of FOUR number one singles - dethroning Will Young's debut and spending a whole month at the summit! Gareth's version is very bland imo and lacks any sort of artistic merit. I can't fault the collective decision here. :clap:

I know it's been done to death as a song but I really like the Gareth Gates version, I remember the music video being SPAMMED TO HELL at the time. Much preferred it to Evergreen too even if that was less of a cover (as the original never made any impact).
