Ilona has also said that because she identifies as trans, she finds it very difficult watching a dead "version" of herself at this difficult point in her life when the show was on :( Idk it just doesn't sit right with me some of the hate she's getting when I think it's just a few heated and emotional things that happened at a bad time mentally for her I think.

I found Ilona likeable at first - one of my faves - but she is really putting me off with her behaviour and the fact she clearly expected her expensive costumes would be enough to see her soar through the contest.

 

I hope she wises up in the next few because there's potential there. But so much of what she's said so far is just playing the victim and using words without any understanding of what they actually mean e.g. her whole rant about expressing her feelings where she tried to portray herself as just speaking her truth rather than trying to be the center of everyone's attention and a hypocrite.

 

Anyway I thought Jimbo dealt well with her - harsh but fair, like how Bianca handled Trinity K and Adore.

I honestly can't stop watching that lip sync. Priyanka is so far and away my favourite, like she's in another universe in my book, I just love EVERYTHING about her.

I don't think any of the commercials were that great, these acting ones are always the worst challenges though. I think I'd have given Jimbo the win, certainly not Rita. I thought Jimbo and Scarlett were better in the challenge and certainly on the runway as well, Rita had one of the weakest looks for me! Rita is great but that was just a baffling win to me. I don't think Ilona really deserved to be bottom either, as a package I think her and Scarlett's commercial was my favourite? Like you can see that as "sissys" they were kind of opposites with Ilona on the OTT end and you could imagine how they would clash. Ilona was a bit OTT so no way was she high or a win by any means, but it's a Drag Race acting challenge, you can get away with OTT, and I thought it was funny that she was just constantly on shouting :lol: I'd have gone:

 

Win: Jimbo

High: Scarlett/Rita

Safe: Ilona

Low: Priyanka (really disappointing plus I think as a package her and Lemon's commercial was the weakest, it was boring af)

Bottom 2: Lemon/BOA (Lemon's runway was hideous and BOA got swallowed up by Jimbo and Rita in the acting challenge)

 

In saying that, I'm glad Ilona did lipsync because she turned that OUT *.* She felt that song and brought it all, I loved it, another great lipsync on her part. I barely noticed BOA lmao so right result.

 

Also wtf at Jimbo being told "welcome to the competition honey" when she just won the most iconic challenge last week plus she's been high multiple times, as well as having the best runway virtually every week? :lol:

 

Jeffery's comment to Ilona was disgusting, having non binary representation like her in someone with a "normal" body as well is so important and it was probably a big thing for her to do, and all Jeffery can say is that... He is just so so nasty, it's not just what he says, it's the tone and snideness he says it with. You wanna talk about one-note Jeffery? You've been on that one snide bitchy gay note the entire time you've been sat on the panel. There's never much constructive criticism, it's just something to tear someone down and say they have no taste or need to change this that and the other.

If I'm being honest I actually liked Lemon and Priyanka's ad the most. They had the best acting outside of Jimbo, and I didn't think either of their outfits were that bad, I kinda preferred them both to Rita's, whose win seemed one of the most random in recent drag race memory.

For me I’d have given Jimbo the win, Lemon and Pri high. Scarlett safe. Rita low cos of runway. and then Boa and Ilona lipsyncing

I liked the episode this week, but thought the judging a bit off and the challenge wasn't that good. I thought Jimbo should've won - she did great in the challenge and her runway was by far the best. I thought Rita faded into the background of her commercial a bit and her outfit wasn't that good - it had quite an unflattering shape to it.

Priyanka & Lemon's commercial was the worst, but BOA gave the worst performance. Lemon's runway would have put her in the bottom over Priyanka.

 

Ilona killed the lip sync though for sure. I didn't expect her to be the lip sync assassin of the season! Glad to see BOA gone, she was my least favourite queen left.

Rita's look would have been OK for like a promo or something, but for the actual runway that just didn't cut it compared to what she's capable of. It's odd she now has 3 wins and lemon only has one when she easily deserved Snatch Game and Not Sorry Aboot It. I do really like Rita, she's incredibly talented but she doesn't have that oomph or spark to stand out like others do.

Another brilliant episode. Think the bottom 2 was correct but I didn't see Rita as the winner at all. Jimbo or Priyanka were my Top 2. Lemon's was great also and got way too much hate on this episode.

What the hell is that judging. Second questionable win this series already. Both went to Rita :') I love her but there's no je ne sais quoi about her, the last French-Canadian left in the competition oops. Jeffrey also being a mean girl. I finally see why people don't like him as a judge and this episode made me look at him in a different way for sure. He should've stuck to his occasional RPDR stints. Can RuPaul and Michelle take over next season?!

 

Also WHAT THE HELL at Lemon winning that mini challenge?! This is the same as Kyne winning with that GODAWFUL picture in episode 1.

Agree completely with this. The entire season has been difficult to watch as a result. The queens on this season are also below par compared to what we're used to which is a shame.

 

Once Ilona is gone, then the Top 5 is probably the right Top 5. HOW they did that given the bizarre judging and questionable taste levels I don't know. I feel like the judges are going to get very closely looked at if there is a second season of this.

There isnt the same spark of personality as with Lemon/Jimbo/Priyanka for me, she is clearly very experienced and talented and polished but that doesn't mean everything here. Being a Drag Race winner, I think it takes that spark of personality most of all, that extra something, and Rita doesn't have that. When you think of memorable moments, funny quotes, little memorable memes, you'd never think of Rita.

 

Stacy can definitely stay as a judge, Brooke I keep changing my mind on but I definitely don't think she's enough to anchor the show. I know it's Canadian, but maybe another RuGirl who's popular if someone would do it, and then perhaps Evan Biddell or a fashion designer like him. I feel like Brooke literally only is there as the only Canadian to have done Drag Race to that point, and she's proven herself at times, but at other points I feel like she's not a strong enough personality or someone exciting enough to drive a panel forward.

100%! I feel like she is very Canadian and perhaps embodies their scene well so is kind of the archetype of what they want from the first winner, but she just isn't standing out. No matter how many challenges she wins, she hasn't got the wit of Jimbo, the personality of Lemon or the charm of Priyanka for example. I love that she is quietly confident and just gets on with, but I love everyone left in their own ways.
