Jimbo 100% deserved this win. All ofa sudden drag queens being campy, sexy and over the top is bad? Suddenly drag sister/daughter means biological one? Nah fam, get tae with that shite.

 

Bimbo, Jimbo's amateur was the best made up, the only one clearly tucked & gave excellent face and strut - more than any of the others bar Rita's girl can say. And then the two highs were two bodysuits *after Bobo was directly told not to wear a bodysuit in the walkaround*, while Jimbo made from scratch in the workroom at least one full garment with lots of elements & complexity, and that was deemed Low???? Wtf!!

Every single lipsync this season has been so brill!!! Poss the best season ever for lipsyncs for me- Rita MURDERED it

I'm so done with these judges. :frankie: Like, I'm sat here praying Michelle tears them a new one next week when they come away with their usual shit critiques or uncalled for shadiness.

 

First, Lemon... the mother/daughter critique was just ODD, and made no sense whatsoever but it seems like even when they don't know how to critique somebody constructively, they'll just say whatever they want to make it sound dramatic.

 

Then Jimbo... like, come ON. Jimbo 100% should have won that challenge. It wasn't "too sexy", and Jeffrey really needs to shut up with these "it's not what I was expecting from you" comments. Surely Jimbo coming out in exactly what you'd expect from Jimbo would be a bad thing, or at least not progressive at all. The fact that she consistently surprises the judges each week should (and would if this were the US version) be praised. Priyanka winning with basic ass body suits with some oversized pom poms attached while Jimbo did all that???

 

Like Liam said, they're constantly just shifting the goalposts every week to fit their own ideal of who they want to do well or see progress further. Rita's runway was godawful and should have been sent home despite being decent in the lip-sync.

everyone in here is so right. i've started coming into each episode wondering what f***ery the judging is going to play and it's making an incredible season really uncomfortable to watch.

 

lemon did deserve to be in the bottom but it should have been scarlett too with her droopy ass crotch and nonsensical leather jackets. i also don't get what the producer's angle is regarding her? there is no narrative? no underdog storyline? there wasn't even any stroppy drama this week? and then jimbo too.... consistently giving winning performances and placed low for backwards reasons. at this rate she is going to get sent home next week when in reality she should be on her third win (at least) by now. imagine if at this point rita and jimbo were neck and neck heading towards the final. the rivalry ! the drama ! two incredibly experienced, different but so well rounded points of view gunning for the title ! it would have been amazing and so tense.

 

saying that, i'm happy priyanka won and is back in it. and rita rly killed the lipsync.

Yeah needless to say and add more to judges critics but they almost had it right...if only Bobo was in bottom two with Rita instead of Lemon and everything else would have been on spot.

 

Priyanka really deserved the win this week though (it really was between her and Jimbo for me). I know her garment wasn't as detailed as Jimbo's but she had the best presentation. Her daughter/sister looked amazing, walked the runway like a pro and just embodied the challenge and it looked polished and clean.

 

Only thing Lemon f***ed it up was the fact that her mother looked old and ugly after makeover but Bobo was the worst and I was surprised that she wasn't in the bottom 2. We never seen Bobo lipsync but I think Lemon might have had a chance surviving if she was against Bobo (or better if Bobo and Rita had to lipsync).

 

And last, deep down somewhere in me was hoping it will be double shantay you stay but that didn't happen :nocheer:

Jimbo was the best and deserved the win. It was Scarlett's time.

What I definitely don't agree with is Ilona and BOA shantaying. They weren't that good at all. This week, however, was TOTALLY calling for a double shantay especially after the message of the episode they were trying to convey. I called it after the first few seconds but, alas, I think they might not have had the budget to do another episode?

 

So gutted Lemon went home. Rita and her won 5/8 episodes altogether (even if some of Rita's wins were questionable to say the least)!

 

I instantly predicted Jimbo's win when she came out on the runway. The judging is f***ing ridiculous. Maybe Michelle will lead them to Jesus next week because I just cannot. Jeffrey is so smug all the time I cannot stand him any longer. And that makeup this week. CHIIIIIIILE :/

 

 

Scarlet got read for the dress but she came second lmao. Absolutely ridiculous. They really have a problem with Jimbo that goes beyond the challenges and performance. Makes me appreciate Rupaul's judging abilities more :')

 

Overall the episode was SO wholesome outside of the judging bits. It's such an important message (very close to home of course) and it would've ended on a much more positive note had it been a double shantay. Also all queens were funny throughout. Honestly it feels like the interviews are 80% Priyanka at this point. She's such a f***ing star.

Paegant: Jimbo (wasn't mad at Lemon, but Jimbo being low purely on the runway was so so stupid)

Makeover: Priyanka or Jimbo

 

It is just so so frustrating that Jimbo has crushed almost everything the queens have had thrown at them but is being framed as someone who isn't quite there a a contender just because she doesn't fit the judges' little boxes? I love all of the top 5 (I think cast-wise it's the strongest top 5 in a good while) and I loved nearly all the cast this year in their own ways, but it's not even close when you look at how much Jimbo has absolutely served this season. She's not even my personal winner (Lemon > Jimbo > Priyanka for me) but you can't deny how brilliantly she's done all season. I mean her runways, every single week she tears it up and serves versatility, the only time she's faltered on that runway was last week and even then the judges hammed up how bad that was.

It definitely is starting to feel that these judges - Brooke, a pageant queen, Stacey, a runway model, and JBC, a basic gay - literally think that drag IS dressing up as a glamorous woman in order to look beautiful and charming and family-friendly-fun and to win pageants, rather than that drag is the general art of playing a larger than life character.

 

Because every week that's the kind of performance that wins. The prettiest girl in the most glamorous dress who had the least offensive performance. It's Drag Race without any of the edge that they're rewarding and anything else they're critiquing hard.

Completely agree with everyone else. SUCH a wholesome and heartwarming episode just to be ruined by the awful judging once again.

 

Jimbo was clearly the strongest this week. I adore Priyanka and she’s my favourite overall but she didn’t deserve that win over Jimbo.

 

And Lemon going... 💔 I was so sure she’d be top 3 alongside Jimbo and Priyanka.

If ever there was a time for a double shantay it should’ve been this week 😭

Gutted she’s gone, I was sure it would be no one other than Scarlett leaving this week.

And don’t even get me started on the ‘too sexual’ comments for Jimbo...

I dread to think how Detox, Alaska and others would’ve done in a season like this if they think drag queens need to be family-friendly :’)

Like with the JBC deleting twitter thing (lets be honest, it'll be deactivate and reactivate) the pushback has now turned into "we can't criticise anything/criticising queens is ALWAYS Bad" instead of any kind of more nuanced take.

 

Similarly Ilona has been causing drama on Twitter recently complaining about not being booked after Drag Race and its like... it is not a magic ticket to get booked. If you had a bad rep locally before the show (which was said by local queens to her and fans) and then went on a tv show and didn't go out of your way to rehabilitate your image, what do you expect???

 

I'm reminded of the tell-alls from Syco staff of X Factor winners who took 'make me a star' literally and expected to not have to contribute or work hard at their careers after winning in the first place.
