It feels like it happens a little too often for my liking on a wider scale (not just Ariana, off the top of my head the Little Mix vs. Kylie thread was exhausting to read, although 'stan war' toxicity definitely comes into play too) - so this just felt like another example of it. Fair enough if you didn't mean it to be that way.

Where's the positions vs. Lemonade discussion? Our actual top 2 who would be more suitable to compare? :o
Why isn't Monster Mash on ACR? Thriller surely is.

Maybe Halloween is now classed as active promotion and it’s got a reset :D

As someone who doesn’t really Stan or follow Ariana or Miley and they aren’t really my kind of thing I just find it hard to understand why Ariana immediately jumps to number one with (nearly) every release whereas Miley makes great songs and has to rise slowly.

I do like some earlier Ariana releases like ‘Break Free’, ‘One Last Time’ and the fantastic ‘No Tears Left To Cry’. All great pop songs. Maybe I don’t like the more urban leaning releases if that makes sense.

I hope 'motive' can stay top 20, the best and (only) good song from Ariana's album.

No Tears Left To Cry was indeed very good. Unfortunately, a lot of her most recent songs have been fairly mediocre. By contrast, I would agree that Miley Cyrus's most recent work (the last two or three years) has been the best of her career. Still, what do we know?

I really liked “Love Me Harder” but of course that struggled to number 48. There really isn't anything wrong with that of course, but I've just accepted that I am old and completely out of touch with what is popular.

I should add that the blatant misogyny that often accompanies the criticisms in here (and elsewhere on the internet) DOES make me feel uncomfortable sometimes.

I'm not coming for anyone's taste btw - I'm about as far from a music snob as you can get :P there have just been issues with pitting females and casual sexism in here in the past, which really put me off from posting, so I feared it was cropping up again. That's totally fair and many people agree that the 'sweetener' singles are her best. I would agree 'no tears left to cry' is a career highlight  and 'Love Me Harder' was slept on for sure Doctor B - thankfully top 10 in the U.S.
Love Me Holder is Gold certified, that's more than what a few of her top 10 hits got (Boyfriend, Focus, Imagine, Needy, Stuck With U), more of a sleeper hit really.

Love me Harder was pre-Earned it and Can't feel my face

if released today it would probably be a 10-week #1

Come on Cliff!!!

With ease probably, she's adding quite a lot daily as streaming catches up.
