They are both gonna be streaming pretty much nil now anyway, and there's a small campaign going with people downloading all the versions on Amazon. I think they're gonna do it!

AIFCY had 46,217 streams on Spotify yesterday, that's NOT "pretty much nil" even though it's on ACR.

But I guess it's the gap between her and Wham! that counts. Say Wham! did 5k fewer; divide by 200 and that's only 25 chart sales difference. The download campaign just needs to add an extra few hundred and they can do it...

OMG! Last Christmas has 24 positions in the top 76 on Amazon download chart at the moment really? :o

If that's the case, Last Christmas is guaranteed number 1 tomorrow if Jess Alexa Glynne doesn't usurp that number 1 spot in the last minute.

As if Amazon's sales are high... I mean there are four Comin' Over Here's ahead of the highest LC and even that barely scraped the top 100 in midweeks. But anything is possible I guess.
I've given Wham a download, Last Christmas deserves to be #1 just as much as Mariah, she had her turn!
yes but the difference is tiny and single digits can make a difference

Same, would be a nice surprise for Wham to bag it tomorrow. As Ladbaby and the kunts are both higher still than the biggest version on Amazon, not expecting sales to be that great.

Looking forward to seeing how the chart shapes after that first midweek.

Wham could have easily got it if the OCC had publicised the battle a bit more. I’m not surprised they haven’t, I’m sure they want people to just forget there’s a chart this week!

Just about to do the same, it deserves a week at the top.

Amazon Digital is dead, most of those downloads will be just single digits.

That’s all that’s needed this week though tbh - a handful of sales could be the difference between 1 and 2.

I've downloaded the Pudding Mix, as I have the original a million times over. I'm sure it will make no difference and that the gap probably widened a lot since those initial mids, but I'd love to see Wham! finally get there. I doubt there'll be much more than a few hundred copies in it, so I'd definitely urge anyone who wants to see them have a shot to download it today.

Just went on iTunes to buy Wham as amazon wouldn't let me & noticed Kylie x Dua Lipa's "Real Groove Studio 2054" was number 2 on there, released today.

What's with Thursday releases???

Thursday releases give you visibility cos no one is releasing and sales are the lowest of the week

but only makes sense if the Friday has a very heavy schedule

nothing that's gonna be big on iTunes is released tomorrow, so they should have waited imho

I don't think it ever makes sense for "fanbase acts"? They are never going to gain those lost sales for the following week. Release day is always the busiest sales day. (On streaming it might be different)

Yep. Madonna does the same thing. So annoying. That day of wasted sales can make the difference between being #85 and being #58 (which might sound pathetic but I don’t care :P)

If Wham miss out by a few sales due to the lack of information from the UK Chart company that will be a disgrace. We should be better informed to know how close this race actually is today.

It's not unusual at all for there to be a lack of midweek info at this point in the year to be fair.

This is a nice surprise- it’s improved on the original. Hope this is a hit!
