Only know one, the brilliant Lola Lennox track. Getting plays on Radio 2, Annie Lennox' daughter and Annie produced it. 2 or 3 plays and it hooks into your brain, hype!

And she sounds very much like her mother. Shame she didn't do a cover of a Kinks song :P

A few names I recognise here! I know Adonia, Lookylion, Fljotavik and Cor Lupus from my own semi and Botanikka and FARC from the other one! Also not heard that CHVRCHES entry so I'll be able to treat it just like any other entry which is a good thing!
i'm quite surprised to see GusGus make it thru but it might not be that cheap tbh - that might be a good horse to bet on atm!

Aeroche/Bøtanikkä hybrid :kink:

I originally sent Higher in last edition and switched to Harper Finn last minute but I just had to try and send it again!!!

ooh that actually looks a pretty good semi draw for me, sorry about the recycle, but I couldn't not with a song like this, it's a real reflection of the dark times we're living in (also Justice for Lilith etc.) :x
Rebrand alert!

My choices were German, Swiss and Swedish this month. I’ve gone with the former, but the others are still high on the potentials list so may show up yet!

Argh lol. Believe it or not my phone autocorrected to that.

And I had to check if you’d finally sent THAT song for a second, seems not :nocheer:

I really don’t think you’re all ready for the Cascada vibes I’m serving this month!
I love that if Daði/ASDIS hadn't been vetoed there would have been three icelandic entries this month  (assuming it wasn't Addy's entry)

Maybe one day, it's certainly still very high on my potentials list but seems more of an entry for Eurovision season, when people are more open to pure cheese and schlager.

At least in the respect that the glass ceiling for the genre around March-June seems to be around 25th in the final instead of rock bottom, though pretty much all of my schlager entries have flopped on their arse...

The first 3 countries that came to mind that I thought might appreciate my entry are all in the other semi oop. Ah well, let's not lose hope just yet ~~

I counted 12 songs I'd already heard in this contest and 9 of them have ended up in my semi so I guess I already have a pretty good idea of what I'll think of it...! (spoilers: pretty positive, so hopefully the rest of the songs can live up to that standard x). Biggest early hype to Republic of Adonia, Aeroche & Fljótavík + Danæviia from the other semi (though as I'd only heard that one already because of seeing it in your personal chart the other week I'll still count this as being a BJSC discovery x). Happy to see JPEGMAFIA and Namasenda both making their first appearances in the main BJSC after I'd sent them to other contests (Peggy to the 2nd Halloween spinoff and Namasenda to Club Bizarre) - also appropriate for Peggy to appear here after we had entries from clipping. and Death Grips last year, may as well complete the Anthony Fantano-core experimental hip-hop starter pack eh xx

Interested to see how Ojnoj do, I was going to switch to that entry on the last day but decided to stick and then saw Ojnoj re-confirm. So I'll get to see what the better option for me would've been!
Similarly, I very nearly switched to the song Utopia have sent! Gah (woulda lost out anyway obviously, but I'm v intrigued to see how it fares! It's a bop!)
Just voted in semi 2 - a very strong ballot!!
Aside: is it a tradition for Land of DW to send Keys N Krates when they have an auto-qualifier  or is that just a coincidence

Immediately recognise both Namasenda and Be Charlotte as both have been in my potentials... with other tracks. I've heard 'Back to Life' already though. It's decent enough and should do well!

Yasss fab to see some hype

I was so stuck between sending this or drivers license! Was gonna send Olivia before it had even premiered but I stumbled across Lola and fell in love with it! I so nearly reconfirmed with Olivia on Friday (& tried to on Saturday but it was too late by then  ) and if I changed it then I wonder if drivers license would have actually escaped veto as it was still in the midst of fully taking of here at the time the semi's went up  Might've had my 3rd big January US hit in a row :kink: hopefully la la love me will do well, its such a bop and I love it! <3

I was actually just thinking today thank God no one tried to send Olivia Rodrigo...
Bre are you able to semi listen through this coming week?

'Double Dutch' is one of my faves at the moment, it just 'felt right' to switch to Keys N Krates instead of my original entry. It's not THAT instant, so it might profit from skipping the semi stage and go straight to the final.

But yeah, now sending Keys N Krates as an AQ quickly became a tradition, so I'll definitely dive into their discography when I win again in 2049.
