I agree with you but no politicians do. It's not just Tories. Did Blair ever say there were no WMD?

Oh I am so fed up with you defending these horrendous human beings by saying ‘all politicians do it’. We’re talking about THIS.

Not all politicians lie and evade questions so brazenly — the problem with the 'they all do it' mentality is it negatively affects those who do not and normalises those who do.

Today's word of the day: circumlocutionist

Love it, her constant trolling of the government is getting me through this.

Another U-turn from the Government. Vouchers will replace all meal packs from next week. People power prevails yet again.
Another victory for the people. Vouchers to replace all meal packs from next week.
People power would be a public vote of no confidence in this shambolic givernment of and for the rich and a new election under an actual democratic system such as PR!!!

this isn't people power. it's pressure from a big public figure; aka a 23 year old football player.

People power would be the revolution which is long overdue.

The people were given power in December 2019 and voted for Boris and an 80 seat majority.

We had a vote. Boris and the Tories won a majority.

They got 44%, so no :) Also, with an impartial media, how well do you think your beloved Tories would do? :)

Whilst it’s great that the people scored another victory, it’d be much nicer if we didn’t have to be at war with our politicians in the first place because they actually had enough human decency to try and do the right thing from the start.

A overall majority of seats which is what matters in first past the post Michael.

If Johnson and co. got more decisions right in the first place, they wouldn’t have to make endless U-turns.

And like I said, in a TRUE democratic system we would have real people power x FPTP is appalling.

In a functioning democracy, this scandal would bring any government down.

Great to hear they have u-turned and the meals will be replaced with vouchers. Marcus Rashford deserves so much praise right now (as do the many other people that have been fighting for this - but Marcus has really raised the awareness so much!).

Indeed- Jack Monroe as well. Both have done a fantastic job.

Call me a cynic but I can't help feeling they are deliberately getting some things wrong so that they can them claim to be "a listening government" by making a U-turn.
