April 25, 20241 yr This is what I really dislike about streaming! Out of interest, is the radio edit of 'Ebeneezer Goode' available on other streaming platforms, is it just Spotify it's disappeared from? It's on Apple Music...
April 26, 20241 yr Pop Music Activism has revealed just now that it’s Love Can Build A Bridge by Cher, Chrissie Hynde and Neneh Cherry. A two-track single has gone online today. With the separate digital release of Walk This Way, it’s quite curious to see two official Comic Relief songs get single releases on the same day (I know Walk This Way was on there in some form at least as Whoddy said). I must admit that Love Can Build A Bridge is not a song I’d even registered was missing or would necessarily seek out to listen to! But very nice to get a missing No.1 by such big stars online. April 26, 20241 yr 'Love Can Build A Bridge' is quite a nice song and it's always good to have a previously missing number one become available for streaming, but I'm still disappointed it wasn't 'The Chicken Song' (or its very politically incorrect B-side!)
April 26, 20241 yr I don't have any particularly strong feelings towards 'Love Can Build A Bridge' but am glad that a new gap has been filled! I was getting worried that I hyped this thread up just for 'Walk This Way' which was already on there in some form :lol: Pop Music Activism forever doing the lord's work.
June 29, 2024Jun 29 Author Quick question, and I don’t know when I last checked, but how long has the radio edit of Ebeneezer Goode been removed from Spotify? There is an extended Beatmasters Mix there, but I was a little surprised not to see the radio edit (despite knowing its subliminal messages contained within). oh BOLLOCKS!!!! When did this disappear and why? I swear I listened to it on Spotify not so long ago. Relegation for the Chicken Song. Give us back the original radio edit of Ebeneezer Goode instantly. This is what I really dislike about streaming! Out of interest, is the radio edit of 'Ebeneezer Goode' available on other streaming platforms, is it just Spotify it's disappeared from? Just heard the Radio Edit in a playlist Dan put together, so it appears to have been restored recently;
July 3, 2024Jul 3 The version of Toca's Miracle available on streaming is not the original version, it has new vocals by a different singer
August 21, 2024Aug 21 Baz Luhrmann’s Sunscreen has newly joined the missing pile :( Just went to play it on my playlist and a ‘tribute’ version started instead. Also down from iTunes so we won’t see its occasional radio play return anymore. Edited August 21, 2024Aug 21 by gooddelta
April 13Apr 13 Hi everyone!Doing a Google search for the Chicken Song and I came across this place. Saw a few people bemoaning the fact that it wasn't on Spotify.It is now!Weird thing is it's under the artist name, Keiran Berry. Now, I thought it was one of those 'Sounds-a-like' versions, but no; it's the actual song! I wasn't even 100% convinced on hearing it, but I simultaneously played it with the video, fading each one in and out. Identical.So, no idea how this is allowed or how long it'll stay up, but enjoy it while you can, I guess!Keiran Berry - The Chicken Song
April 13Apr 13 X Factor winner Leon Jackson has no tunes on Spotify apart from a re-recording of When You Believe

Weird
April 25Apr 25 This is brilliant news. I was three in 1986 so don't remember it from the time but claiming fake nostalgia anyway. What a time to be alive. Sticking a deckchair up my nose to celebrate. Next stop: The Stonk and (I Want To Be) Elected off of Mr. Bean & Smear Campaign Feat. Bruce Dickinson, which I definitely DO remember, not that the latter got to #1. Just feel like everything of note ever should be available digitally by this point, it's ludicrous I can't stream things like I Can't Help Myself by Lucid in 2025. This is how most people listen to music. Great to learn Meet The Flintstones is on though, only found that out tonight!I am going to make sure I stream this enough times over the next 30 days for it to make a big dent into my personal chart, just like I recently did with It's Great To Be A Cat 2025 off of Felix feat. Robbie Williams. Edited April 26Apr 26 by HiyaLuv!
April 25Apr 25 Wonder if these will ever turn up. Kind of makes you miss the halcyon days of multiple b-sides. "On the second B-side (the single was released as a "double B-side") of the 7" and 12" singles was another popular song from Spitting Image, "I've Never Met a Nice South African", which mocked the apartheid-era nation's white people. The 12" single also contained "Hello, You Must Be Going", a parody of Phil Collins who seems as much concerned about his receding hairline as his failed relationship, and "We're Scared of Bob", a parody of the Band Aid / USA for Africa charity records with the various artists suggesting they were only making the record because they were too afraid to say no when Bob Geldof asked them".
April 29Apr 29 That upload of The Chicken Song is not a legitimate re-release - the same artist has songs from the South Park soundtrack, Doctor Who themes, and others.Anyone can technically re-add any song to Spotify, and get away with it for a while if it manages to slide through any copyright filters. I'm sure it will get removed as soon as whoever owns the copyright finds it.
