April 1, 20214 yr Flush. It's done absolutely NOTHING for me on first listen. 'Driver's License' didn't hit me straight away but there was something about it that drew me back. This... is just... there. It exists. I don't hear 'Cruel Summer' at all? Not even in a "If Lorde did CS" way. Mehhhhh. literally the only part I hear CS is the last 3 seconds!
April 1, 20214 yr I get the Cruel Summer comparisons but only right at the end – gives me slight ‘he looks up grinning like a devil’ vibes from the way she shouts it out. Not really enough to say the songs are similar at all though haha. I can’t see this being anywhere near as big as drivers license although that would be pretty impossible anyway! I actually prefer it though :’)
April 1, 20214 yr It is a wholesale rip-off of Lorde, but I dunno... I suppose at least it's sounds a bit more interesting than its predecessor and I like that she does more with her voice on it. I don't think she's for me though ultimately and that's fine. Interested to see how this performs!

'Ghost' HUGE lead single but a very meh follow up in 'Glow' There's a part near the end that really reminded me of the "Said I'm fine, but it wasn't true I don't wanna keep secrets just to keep you" bit in 'Cruel Summer'.
April 1, 20214 yr not feeling it much sounds a bit like a Lorde rip-off, all thru the song it's like if she's gonna start singing Royals :D on 1st listen it's pretty mediocre, especially the lyrics, which were the main asset in DL
April 1, 20214 yr The Lorde vocal production is even more noticeable on this — and then the middle-eight/outro is very Taylor. I'm not mad — I'll always have a soft spot for anything remotely Lorde.
April 1, 20214 yr Much better than DL! I'm probably not gonna choose to listen to it, but the production is really nice.
April 1, 20214 yr The production is amazing, I don’t think it sounds like a huge hit, the last minute really saved it!
April 1, 20214 yr Liking this on the first listen  Stranger things have been hits so fingers crossed
April 1, 20214 yr I really like this, especially the after chorus part. It doesnt have the same wow feel that drivers license had but I doubt she’ll be a one hit wonder after hearing this
April 1, 20214 yr People commenting about her sounding like Lorde etc.....most artists have influences and I'm all for the Lorde sound! This song is very strong and I think it will be huge! One hit wonder tag will not happen now.
April 1, 20214 yr I wasn't fond of it on the first listen, but after a few listens I do like the last minute or so of the song. I think it'll be a decent size hit, but no where near as big as "Drivers Licence". Edited April 1, 20214 yr by Envoirment
April 2, 20214 yr This is completely amazing and surprisingly indie (and very Lorde). Pitchfork supports too.
April 2, 20214 yr This is completely amazing and surprisingly indie (and very Lorde). Pitchfork supports too. It's getting a lot of positive reviews and feedback.....apart from some on Buzzjack which was to be expected. Great song! Surprised at the quality.

I have gone from I'm not mad to loving this pretty quickly — the production and percussion is really top notch. It doesn't sound like it was made for Tik Tok — despite it probably doing well on there. Edited April 2, 20214 yr by blacksquare
April 2, 20214 yr I’ve only just really gotten into Drivers Licence but this doesn’t have anything that made me love that.
