June 9, 20214 yr Great to see Wolf Alice already comfortably over 30k. 'Oliver Twist' has to be one of the more unusual song titles to have been used for 2 completely unrelated songs with both becoming top 10 hits  (not heard the ArrDee song yet but I appreciate its existence if for no reason other than it reminding me of the D'Banj song which was a banger x)
June 9, 20214 yr So chuffed with those sales for them. There's a new vinyl variant coming out this week that should help with the week 2 cushioning as well: RSD edition of Wolf Alice’s highly-anticipated third album, ‘Blue Weekend’, which is set for release on 11th June 2021 - the day before RSD. The RSD edition is pressed on limited edition Indies only coloured vinyl with a RSD only 7” in the gatefold pocket - featuring album track Lipstick On The Glass and a new & RSD exclusive song called “Time Is Not A Straight Line”.

With this cheeky chappie vibe and cockney accent, he sounds exactly like the son of Mr C from the Shamen who also funnily enough had a huge Charles Dickens inspired smash - the infamous ‘Ebeneezer Goode’ in 1992. :magic: Edited June 9, 20214 yr by Smint
June 9, 20214 yr The chart run for Drivers License is going to end up being such a mess. Bit like ‘I Don’t Care’ by Ed Sheeran. But Radio 1 never mention ACR or the 3 track rule do they on the chart show and guess casual listeners don’t care really.
June 9, 20214 yr Lost Cause will be the first Billie single in a while to not debut top 10, this era feels very lacklustre, I think she changed her image and ditched her shtick too soon.

June 10, 20214 yr Lost Cause will be the first Billie single in a while to not debut top 10, this era feels very lacklustre, I think she changed her image and ditched her shtick too soon. There haven’t really been any bangers so far. She needs another bad guy, see me in a crown, Bury a friend etc between the softer tracks. I hope there are some surprises on the album but nothing is standing out yet. Echoing the sentiments for traitor overtaking DL. Fingers crossed it stays ahead for the next few weeks. DL has had its time.
June 10, 20214 yr Billie can do whatever she wants with her image, thats the whole point so Dua Lipa can appear semi naked 24/7 but Billie Eilish can't? Billie is making the music she wants, if you don't like it don't listen, if it's not for you, listen to something else
June 10, 20214 yr "Therefore I Am" was a very catchy yet very clever track. Commercial to - It made no.2 in both UK and US spending over 3 months in the top 20 in the latter country.

I’m just saying her image was a big part of her appeal and made Billie stand out from the crowd. The main issue is the mediocre music she is releasing.
June 10, 20214 yr They/he is touring in September, plague permitting. I was due to see them last March before "the event" (if the gig was 2 days earlier, it would have gone ahead), so I should finally get to see the Lightning Seeds in 3 months time. If 3 Lions does get a significant boost over this period, it could translate to a few more ticket sales. Don't think it'll lead to new Lightning Seeds material; Ian Broudie seems happy enough to just play the hits from their 90s heyday (he's more or less disowned their 2009 album, claiming that it should never have been released as a Lightning Seeds album). I'm tempted to see them / him in Bexhill in September. Unfortunately, I'm somewhat unhappy with the venue atm. I was due to see Sparks there but the rearranged date now clashes with the rearranged date for Teenage Fanclub in Brighton. The Bexhill venue has said that I can't get a refund as it is now past the original date of the gig. Ideally, I don't want to get a refund until I know that both gigs are going ahead and that there is definitely a clash.
