I expect Steps to get around 10-15k for the week and then to plummet week 2

is the Metallica album allowed in the main album chart? it's a compilation of different artists covering songs from that album...

great for the Manics, hope they manage to hold on

funny that the Manics and Steps already had a similar chart battle exactly 21 years ago in September 1998

Rooting for the Manics to get what will amazingly only be their second ever number one album :D

Decent showing for The Vaccines although I've got a feeling it's gonna fall by Friday and become their lowest charting album to date (all their previous albums have made the top 4).

Good start for Saint Etienne too, but I'm not hopeful it will stay top 40 come Friday.

I heard Steps were 3.5 behind Manics at the weekend so hopefully that's .5 made up
A lot of new enteries in the album top 40 by the looks of things, except there will be quiet a few weeks a bit like that leading up to Christmas
Its great opening sales for both the Manics and Steps, both should easily make 25k, i do like the manics but would have loved steps to have got the number 1.

Much stronger start than I was expecting, though it looks like it would still be slightly behind Bad Habits if the latter wasn't ACR. As it is, though, it seems like BH will be #3 at best come Friday.

I think Metallica also rereleased the original album this week on various formats too

Steps are now doing a signed vinyl for £15 in their bid for no1, think that's their only ever signed vinyl, none of this 'art card' nonsense.

Yeah that's right, 'The Metallica Blacklist' which is the covers album will only be in the compilation chart.

Actually it would almost certainly be just ahead of Bad Habits anyway as the paid for sales aren’t halved on ACR. Would be a very interesting Ed vs Ed battle for #1 if Bad Habits wasn’t on ACR!

Drake may rally to #2 due to the Spotify lag but I’m not convinced as he’s still sinking whereas Bad Habits is very stable.

Ah yeah that's true I didn't think of that. Ed's increased his lead by 3k since yesterday so it seems like Shivers would've ended up at #1 regardless, but it's a shame that we don't get an interesting Ed vs Ed chart battle this week, with Shivers basically guaranteed #1 thanks to Bad Habits being on ACR.

Ahh, I thought it might be too late for Dermot to break through. Rooting for Better Days to hold on!
