October 24, 20214 yr Adele is set for a second week at Number 1 with Easy On Me, currently tracking to top the Official Singles Chart once more. Last week, the track broke UK chart records when it debuted at the top of the chart, with the highest first-week streams of any track in chart history. It's Adele's third UK Number 1 single, following Someone Like You (2011) and Hello (2015). Becky Hill and Topic could jump up one place to Number 10 with My Heart Goes (La Di Da), following weeks of upward trajectory. It would be Becky’s fifth Top 10 single and Topic’s third. Meanwhile outside the Top 10, Swedish House Mafia and the Weeknd could be in for this week’s highest new entry with their track Moth To A Flame. The slick synth-pop number is currently on course to debut at Number 12. ABBA could also gain their 29th UK Top 40 single on Friday. Just A Notion, the latest single from their upcoming album Voyage, is heading for a Number 14 debut. Released on November 5, Voyage has already broken pre-order records for ABBA's label Universal in the UK. And finally, Digga D’s Red Light Green Light could be another new entry at Number 16. It would be the London rapper’s ninth UK Top 40 single. Source: OCC Edited October 24, 20214 yr by Mart!n
October 24, 20214 yr This is the most basic ass dance track of all time so why do I like it? Its not that basic I think, I like the bass synths in the chorus which make it a bit different from Topic (or Meduza for that matter) 's other songs, and I like Becky Hill reaching for the depths of her vocal range, she can sing quite deep for a female singer! October 24, 20214 yr It will probably leave when the album is released and three other tracks are ahead of it. Not necessarily as cos of the new rules it will get an auto-reset presuming the album does give it a 25% boost next week, so we won't be having another I Don't Care situation (where that was the most consumed track of the week but was on ACR so didn't chart).
October 24, 20214 yr I don't know how Radio 1 will be able to play Digga D's Red Light Green Light in the chart show! Edited October 24, 20214 yr by sn👠ke
October 24, 20214 yr I think Katie said Adele is outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined. Huge streams on Amazon, I expect.
October 24, 20214 yr Great to see the CD single giving Abba a huge boost - really hope it managed to cling on to a Top 40 place
October 24, 20214 yr I think Katie said Adele is outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined. Huge streams on Amazon, I expect. She said Scott announced that on Friday, so that was last week's chart sales. I don't know how Radio 1 will be able to play Digga D's Red Light Green Light in the chart show!Well, they did just play it today on First Look :P
October 24, 20214 yr Do people stream music more on Amazon Music than on Spotify these days? No. Obviously the UK market will not match 1:1 with the global market, but the global market has Spotify at around 30% - 35% (paid subscribers only, not counting free users), Apple at just over 15%, Amazon at 10% - 15%, and Google (YouTube Music) at just under 10%. Tencent is also at just over 10%, I believe it's the dominant streaming service in China. Amazon is the 3rd largest streaming service in the UK though afaik. October 25, 20214 yr Except with Christmas songs... The most often heard line around the globe will be "Alexa, play Christmas music"
October 25, 20214 yr Nice to see ABBA top 15 on first look but cant see them holding on with this single as theres alot less itunes sales.
October 25, 20214 yr Nice to see ABBA top 15 on first look but cant see them holding on with this single as theres alot less itunes sales. They will be lucky to make Top 40 with it. But I haven’t seen any real promotion for this one tbh, is it meant to be a proper single or just an album teaser?
October 25, 20214 yr They will be lucky to make Top 40 with it. But I haven’t seen any real promotion for this one tbh, is it meant to be a proper single or just an album teaser? It's a proper CD single and it's been A-listed on Radio 2.
