It's a Christmas song, so I'd be surprised if it does do anything now!

It’s a shame it just started to pick up steam when Christmas was almost over.

It was performed on an ITV Christmas Eve 'carol' show or something that had Kate Middleton on, so that's why it was so late to get a boost.

Plenty of Xmas songs peak in January so you never know if there’s enough people behind it - just look at ‘Pipes Of Peace’, Winters Tale’ and ‘The Land of Make Believe’!

Those examples are from 30+ years ago, it won't happen in the streaming age. Also I've never heard 'The Land Of Make Believe' referred to as a Christmas song before? :huh:

I was pushi. The realms with those examples for my arguement 😁. The other two definitely are though but your right it won’t happen in the streaming era!

And to be fair, “A Winter’s Tale” isn’t really a Christmas song either! It works just as well for (as the title suggests) the rest of Winter

Freiheit's glorious Keeping The Dream Alive also gets labelled as a Christmas song despite the fact that it has nothing to do with Christmas and reached its UK chart peak in January.

Yeh that’s another one, radio 2 have it as part of altheir Xmas playlists!

True, I did continue to listen to Sam Fenders ‘Winter Song’ last year well into January, even with it’s more explicit Christmas lyrics.

Are we expecting an update at 5:45 or do we not know?

9 Crimbo songs and Gayle in the Top 10 probably.

 

It would be interesting to see if Sam is still the 2nd highest non-xmas track though.

What are we thinking then? Last Christmas or Merry Christmas?

^ I believe the Top 3 but not #4 and #5! Easy On Me won’t be anywhere near the Top 5 on ACR, plus I’d expect it to be all Christmas songs at least at this stage of the week.

That was last fortnight's chart, it shows Ed Sheeran in his second week at #1, MW have not updated, OCC don't have an update for this week so technically MW won't get one.
