I don't like to be unkind to anyone but today's show felt pretty amateurish, especially the male presenter. Clunky and error strewn. Makes you appreciate a good presenter like Scott more.

The pair presenting today were both presenters from University Radio York (as opposed to professional radio broadcasters) so I think it's a little unfair to expect them to be perfect! I think they did pretty well given it was their first go on Radio 1, they kept themselves together throughout and I'm sure they will improve given more professional experience.

You're all very welcome, I'm glad so many still enjoy reading these threads, it makes the hours spent on prep worth it! Huge shoutout to Liam.k as well because he does about a third of the prep each week too

thanks Joseph and Liam for keeping these threads going throughout the year! I always read them even if I'm usually unable to comment much due to work.

now anyone who is around on Sunday look out for the Buzzjack-hosted CHART OF THE YEAR to once again make up for Radio 1 scrapping it from their schedule.

Erm, doesn’t Scott Mills regularly do loads of errors on the chart and he’s been a Radio 1 presenter for decades. :kink:

Omg yes I was trying to use the OCC archives when putting together my 2000s playlist last week and some charts just didn't load at all, so annoying :(

(using the Wayback Machine on chartstats.com - RIP - was a handy back-up)

Is Adele's sales already so low that Ed having more singles on his album has got him enough streaming points to overtake then, or did Ed do some sales push that I missed?

Sheeran's CD's, vinyl and digital downloads were discounted everywhere. Also by including "Merry Christmas" on the album his streaming sales were 3.6k higher than they would be without the song (because the total weekly streams for "Bad Habits" were converted into sales and it being #3 song also increased the average of songs 3-12 which counted as streaming sales for the 2 most streamed tracks - MC and "Shivers").

If my info is correct he sold 423 copies more than Adele's 30.

The chart is up now... and Ed Sheeran is indeed credited on 'Peru'!

Knew OCC would break their rules for Sheeran

Yep, and I wonder if Peru will be included too.

But will be downweighted to the average of the 3rd to 12th most streamed songs so won't really be making any difference

Joseph, stop putting your foot in it quoting all these facts 😜
