And never heard 10, 18, 19, 22, 26, 31, 34, 36, 39, 46, 47, 49, 50, 53, 54, 55, 56, 61, 63, 66, 70, 77, 82, 85, 91, 96, 99 and 100 either. As if turning 30 this year wasn’t enough to make me feel old!

January 3, 20224 yr I'm struggling with the streaming-era EOY charts in general. If a 6 week #1 can't make the top 80 in last year's EOY, and a 7 week #1 with the highest first week sale in ages can't make the top 10 in this year's, then the EOY chart just doesn't really resonate with me. I miss the days of Chef and Spice Girls breaking into the EOY top 10 off the back of 2 weeks' sales!
January 3, 20224 yr There is an argument to be made that the EOY charts are essentially pointless in the streaming era tbf. Was still enjoyable to follow the countdown nevertheless.
January 3, 20224 yr It’s still interesting to follow the countdown but where it falls down is that it doesn’t feel like a reflection of the year. Yes, I’m aware Perfect, Mr Brightside, Baby Shark, Wonderwall and Someone Like You will be streamed a lot but I don’t think of any of them and think ‘yes, that’s 2021!’
