Tbh I thought the Shaggy random comeback moment might have happened last year when him and Conor Maynard tried to jump on the sea shanty thing but it never happened.

I wouldn't expect 'Lost' to get a reset due to it having already charted on its original release but then I don't think we know if any labels have previously even tried to get a song in this situation reset (I don't think any of them have but that might just be because no one tried to rather than the OCC not allowing it - I think I remember reading that they tried to get 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' manually reset but that also seems like a slightly different scenario). Would love it to happen though. But then at the rate it's still continuing to take off it surely now has a great chance of going top 40 either way. Which would amazingly be his first top 40 hit as lead artist (it is already his highest charting song aside from the Jay-Z/Kanye and Calvin features) despite both of his albums being classics for their genre. I think he's a big enough name now that he'll get 3 more whenever / if he eventually drops another album.

The whole point of ACR is to move aside songs that are clogging the chart up on their way down, not hamper songs on their way up because they happen to be older. It certainly seems a no brainer to grant a re-set if it is requested.

That's the good news, it's doing so well it should go top 40 even on ACR, it's a bit the same that happened with Fleetwood Mac-Dreams a while ago, didn't get reset but went top4 0 anyway, Dreams had not been a massive hit either but had made the top 40 unlike Lost.

I don’t think it will quite make it this week as it was only #72 in yesterday’s update but definitely should make top 40 next week if it keeps up this momentum and hopefully the label ask for a reset

We don’t know the full rules for a reset and even though we care as chart fans a new peak might mean nothing to the likes of Frank Ocean’s management and label to even bother to request a reset.

He isn't on the same label any more. CO was released by Def Jam, Blonde by his own label. He released Endless to fulfill the contract with Def Jam.

This is exactly what would happen in a sensible and logical chart (so we can safely rule it out then :lol:)

 

So if he's no longer with Def Jam and the split was not very friendly, we can say goodbye to a reset :/ but hopefully he will make the top 40 even on ACR like Dreams did.

'Packs And Potions' has now just disappeared from the Apple chart entirely lol. (The 'FemzGram' "remix" has been taken down now so I presume that will be why and it'll reappear as the correct version pretty soon).

The fact that Thinkin Bout You was never a UK chart hit is CRIMINAL!!!

Does Def Jam still make money from the song though/own its rights at all? They might reset it to increase revenue - as I assume a higher charting hit will do better long-term with playlist support etc. I assume requesting a reset is free?
