February 15, 20223 yr This is different to what the OCC chart would look like without ACR - otherwise Oh My God would be above Enemy for example.
February 15, 20223 yr Author Does this include airplay perhaps, given that it’s Billboard? No airplay whatsoever.
February 15, 20223 yr Is this what the top 25 would look like without ACR and the three song rule? Edited February 15, 20223 yr by daniellovesmusic
February 15, 20223 yr No - for one ArrDee/Aitch are way too low I've no idea how they've calculated this?
February 15, 20223 yr Hummmm... Each week the OCC don't get streaming data on time for the Thursday, so that is 'calculated', so this could use accurate data so that could explain the difference. Equally, they could be using a different ratio (I can't remember if Billboard and the OCC use different streaming ratio) so that could also be a reason. Equally, some tracks do have small amounts of physical releases which are ignored form this, again, if the gaps are small between sales could account for the moves. We'll need to see more examples as time passes.
February 15, 20223 yr No - for one ArrDee/Aitch are way too low I've no idea how they've calculated this? My thoughts exactly. War is too low for this chart to make logical sense.
February 15, 20223 yr They say that each country has its own customized ratio so probably not 1:100 and 1:600. Billboard does a different ratio for its charts. I forget what it is currently, but 1:1350 rings a bell (though that maybe albums)
February 16, 20223 yr Author How this chart is compiled: A ranking of the top songs based on streaming and sales activity from within the country- as tracked by MRC Data. The ranking is based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of leading audio and video music services, plus download sales from top music retailers within the territory.
February 16, 20223 yr Possibly a mix of a different weighting ratio, no distinction between premium and ad-funded streams and possibly fewer retailers and streaming service providers than those used by the OCC. Removing the distinction between premium and ad-funded streams does put some of the OCC chart into the order the tracks fall on the Billboard chart but again Arrdee & Aitch are far too low on the Billboard chart.
February 16, 20223 yr Billboard inventing UK charts which definitely did not exist before. How kind, now you guys will finally know what's popular!!1
February 16, 20223 yr Would it not be better to do one just for British artists? I could see the good in that as it would allow more international artists to break through. This....is completely pointless, it's just 'Americans react to UK Charts'.
February 16, 20223 yr Apparently, for those like me who didn't already know, 'MRC Data' stands for 'Media Rights Capital' is the a branch of the company that is the equivalent of Nielsen Soundscan.
February 16, 20223 yr In fairness, the OCC website also publishes the US Hot 100 top 20 for some reason  (although at least that is using the same data unlike this weird 'almost the same but not quite' data that Billboard is apparently using)
February 16, 20223 yr If nothing else, it is nice to see What Else Can I Do with a chart position rather than starred out. On another point, it makes me grateful for ACR seeing how high Bad Habits and HeatWaves are.
