Good that What Else Can I Do looks safe to enter anyway even if The Family Madrigal reappears, though of course it would have been Top 15 a few weeks ago. March 7, 20223 yr I thought the three track rule only applies to artists, not to albums if the artists differ So it seems did the OCC themselves when Encanto looked set to have 4 songs in the Top 40 in the first week of January, with What Else Can I Do at #38 in the Tuesday mids and #39 on the Wednesday, before restricting to 3 in the whole chart come the Friday. March 7, 20223 yr Wow great sales x Stereophonics and Marillion too, but besides them, sales are terrible #3 on just 3K Stereophonics are kinda famous for their terrible album titles so ind they keep up with the tradition! Their worst album title was "You Gotta Go There to Come Back" :D Griff & Sigrid should have released the singles earlier, when the song was top 40 on Apple and on HH on Spotify, its doing too little on streams right now (dropped from HH so not top 200 on Spotify and only around 150 on Apple)
March 7, 20223 yr I demand 'The Family Madrigal' be reinstated immediately xx (really not sure how it could have been put on ACR accidentally, surely this is or should be an automated process? lol) I don't think I've cared much for the singles from this Stereophonics album but good to see them still maintaining similar sales to their last album and continuing to run up the tally of #1s. 'Keep Calm And Carry On' looks like such a baffling outlier in their discography - the 5 albums before it all got to #1, and the 5 albums after it all got top 3 with three of them also getting #1, yet KCACO could only get to #11. That's the impact of a Q4 release in 2009 though, I would guess its first week sales weren't much out of line with the trend of their career. Something honestly feels a little bit fishy about Bad Boy Chiller Crew's dramatic rise on Spotify, I can't find any evidence of it going viral and that's backed up by it not having the same kind of increase on Apple Music (Apple seems to be frozen at the moment so I guess we'll see if it has a massive rise when it unfreezes but for the time being it's been hovering very stable around the high 40s on Apple for around a week and a half, while over the same period mysteriously jumping from the 70s to #4 on Spotify). It might just be some very effective playlist developments or something but it seems unusual. Given the relatively small rise in the actual midweeks I wonder if some of those Spotify numbers are being filtered out... #conspiracytheorist
March 8, 20223 yr ^Keep Calm was released too close to Xmas, but indeed it opened with 42K at #11. Its the same with the Manics, their last 11 albums have all gone top 4 except Lifeblood which only peaked at #13 cos they released in November.
