Remedy is a decent song but quite surprised as well given the song didn't do well elsewhere (2 DNQs in the semis for 2 of the other contests I'm in that are different to Wouter's)

Blimey I got confused with the Czech song... :wacko: :hithead: Turns out it did qualify in one of the contests I'm in and wasn't sent in another.

Congratulations to Altyr Muunilinst on another success. The song was fourth from bottom on my semi 2 scoreboard.

 

40th place for my song is disappointing but at least it made it to the final. I see I was the one who won that tie-break over Suedeonia who shot themselves in the foot by giving it 12 points. My 18 point song by Quintessa was just above me in 39th place, it should have finished a lot higher.

The ETERNAL STRUGGLE of almost-but-not-quite finishing 9th continues for us both

 

...although in the PLOT TWIST OF THE CENTURY, it turns out Leww's spreadsheet was off by exactly 1 point in exactly the right way to knock me down to 9th!! (Summericia were just missing 1 point, the extra 1 point was enough to push them up from 9th to 7th with 7-9 now being a three way tie, TARO Bellamia knocked down to 8th. I've just amended Leww's final scoreboard post with his permission so I don't need to repost the entire scoreboard xx). Math you are now forgiven <3

 

Thank you very much again to all of my voters, thrilled to have made the top 10 with this, took me all the way until October last year to keep alive my streak of calendar years with at least one top 10 hit so a relief to not have to wait nearly as long this year! This was a pretty bare bones entry with it being composed pretty much entirely of 4 notes on loop peppered with thudding noises but clearly that was all it needed, I found myself instantly hooked on it when I came across it (I checked out a few other VII Circle tracks as well after stumbling on this one but none of them grabbed me in quite the same way) so great to see that it seems to have done similarly for a good number of the rest of y'all. :heart: Coming within 5 points of winning the semi-final as well! Take that uhsting and Iz with your DNQ / borderline qualification predictions xx (I did think semi 1 was a pretty great draw for my song with it being so dance bloc heavy)

 

Congrats to Singerpurear for a long awaited first ever podium finish! And that's about all I have to comment on in the top 10 beyond my own result because in what I think has to be a first, I did not vote for a single song in the top 10 :lol: and Dobago and Summericia were the only ones to even get commiserations! Oops. Looks like I was a little out of touch this month with all of the blocs. Skall having the highest song I actually voted for and just missing out on the top 10 on a tiebreak aw ~ Jadakissnia deserved better but 13th is not too bad of a result, I think it was a fair bit lower earlier on in the night so picked up a bit towards the end!

 

Happy to see Aquafina, Cumulonimbia, Klum Rep and Trifoski (:cheeseblock:) in the top 20 too, plus Sovarasma just scraping top half (technically bang in midtable but I'll count that) - Sovarasma are really killing it for me so far this year, they've had my favourite song in their semi-final and a medal position in the final both contests! Wish at least one of the two songs could have been a bigger hit but at least this one did a bit better than 'Vega'.

 

Zanmatony still finishing too low but yay for them at least escaping the last place they were stalling at for too long and just about making it to triple figures. The biggest disappointment though is Bøtanikkä finishing that low, did not realise that they were struggling so much, that was an absolute banger! :( Kathaldazia, Danæviia, St. Burbia and Quintessa all deserved better too, not the most agreeable set of results ever to put it lightly xx

 

Thanks for the hosting again Leww, obviously no worries about it not necessarily being as flashy and high effort as some of your past hostings, it must be hard to keep coming up with novel presentation after how many times you have hosted before anyway haha.

Just noticed that Rolloland qualified on the strength of 4(!) votes - really making those count in the first semi-final ever where 30 points was enough to get through *_* (and of course Suede kicking himself out on a tiebreak by giving Rollo a 12, ouch).

 

Zanmatony would also have DNQed if not for the deducted nations eep, that would have been a very sad loss.

 

(for future posterity, in my belated updating of my stats for this contest I noticed Trifoski's 7 pointer was missing from the semi-final 2 scoreboard, have confirmed with Seven that it went to St. Burbia x)

Ah well, very happy to be in the final (quite comfortably looking at the semi results!) and being in the Top 30 overall as well! A shame to see my +18 and +15 in the bottom 3 of the Final (in fact I voted for 8 of the bottom 9 :lol:) but good to see them all in the final nonetheless.

Congrats John, I'm obviously very happy to see my 18 win! :D Mosquetania, Singerpurear and Summericia rounding out the rest of my votes in the top 10 :clap: Scherzland, Aelandor and Kathaldazia still deserved better but otherwise I'm happy with the results.

 

36th might not look great, but I had no potentials at all this month, so to randomly remember a song from 6 years ago and send it on a whim the last night of confirmations, I'll gladly take 36th! Plus it's redemption for The Rocket Summer not qualifying last time.

Does it slightly sting that I was an hour late to confirming the winner? Yes. Does it sting that I nearly swapped it out for Doss last contest but decided against it? Yes. Alas, we move, and absolutely no regrets giving 18 to a very deserved winner :wub:

 

Everything I’d seen regarding my entry had me prepared for a big flop, like 20th at best so to squeeze in a top 10 with plenty of high scores has definitely helped ensure me to trust my gut and know that sending my favourite songs tends to serve me well. In My Dreams might not have been the most inspired entry but it’s absolutely one that I love and one of my favourite songs of the year so I’m glad others found the same love for it!

 

And sending all the love in the world to you Leww, even your “basic” hosting is flawless and professionally done, a great job!

Congrats to Altyr. Didn't see that entry as a big contender but a reasonably comfortable win in the end.

 

Very happy to finish 4th, my best result in over 2 years and a unique position (leaving just 1st and 7th now to complete from the top 10).

 

Not great results on the whole with me only pointing 2 of the top 10 (and one of those only being my +1). But great to see Singerpurear finally land a podium finish with a song I thought might be dark horse this contest.

 

Surprised I was the biggest fan of the host's entry! Thought that was a nailed top 5. And 28th isn't too bad for a really spectacular meme song.
