There is no denying the continued staleness of the charts.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that The Motto can stay Top 10 but i'm not very confident.

charli taking quite a crash

Given how her previous albums performed, this was to be expected sadly. Hopefully it will stabilise at the lower end of the chart where this has a number of tracks streaming doing ok numbers to keep it afloat for a bit.

I never thought I’d see the day Michael Buble had to resort to playing a show in Kingston hosted by an indie store (Banquet Records) in the battle for the #1 album
haha is he really? :D very indie of him :D

^^ Yes, they go on sale tonight, MGK had added a 2nd show with Banquet

Did Buble not do TOS when he was here? I know he done Ant & Dec

What can Placebo do to jump ahead of them both?!

I think MGK will do it his label are doing everything and more to get it.

I get the feeling they totally unbothered by the charts.

They’ve added a competition to their website and reduced the download to £5.99, the CD is still £14.99 on Amazon and Vinyl £32. I’m sure they are more for profits over a loss making 1-out release by reducing everything to rock bottom prices.

I don't think they're bothered either, but that band are such a crucial part of my life and I never thought they'd even come within sniffing distance of having a #1 album to their name... knowing they're this close and ain't gonna get it kills me  :(

I think no matter what Placebo do, they're always gonna end up at #3, there's no way they're gonna be 1 or 2

so better do it with full price and maximum profits

Their discography in albums is very stable but crazy they've never been higher than 5. Also crazy that Without You I'm Nothing only made it to #7 despite being preceded by 2 top 5 singles:

Placebo #5

Without You I'm Nothing #7

Black Market Music #6

Sleeping with Ghosts #11

One more with Feeling:Singles #8

Meds #7

Battle for the Sun #8

Loud like Love #13

A Place for Us to Dream (Best Of) #16

i thought Michael Buble would sell a lot more than 10k given that most of his fans are physical albums buyers....

but then again if Adele and Ed Sheeran are unable to sell big numbers its understandable why artists like Buble are struggling...

I wouldn't have minded MGK's last album being #1 on balance but everything I've heard from this era is pointing towards it being significantly more cringe. Hope Bublé will hold him off.

Booo at 'Melody' seemingly rebounding this week, I was hoping we had passed the chance of that making the top 40. Happy to see Dave back at #1 though, also nice to see 'she's all i wanna be' maybe coming to climb a decent amount again this week + Potter Payper comfortably top 40.

CD sales are starting to dwindle, especially when supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s and Tesco have stopped selling CDs and DVDs

Big question today how many years left now that’s what call music number series there lots lot sales over years due kid don’t buy now album like streaming music on now cd late chart record. Not sure how long gone be around for. Plus lose money supermarket not sell them to

Bublé would have been selling much better had they gone for multiple bundles with cassettes and different variants and signed art cards etc....

He’s only got a standard CD and an alternative deluxe edition.
