I wonder when the time will come when I actually just accept that I love Ava Max. She lacks a kind of identity which is stopping me stanning her but she's got so many massive bops in her back pocket at this point so maybe I should give in

This is exactly how I feel. I like most of her songs but I feel so disconnected from her.

This song is fantastic tho

Yeah, this is my favourite from her since Sweet But Psycho.

I'm literally obsessed!

Ava has always felt like she’s on the verge of delivering something outstanding and be the next big pop girl… and then she releases a track that sounds like it should have been a Katy Perry single in 2011.

But in what world is this a bad thing? :o

Debuted at #83. Hopefully it can improve from here.

i hope so. I have a good feeling it could be a summer hit, and lets face it shes not really one for high debuts so i reckon she'll climb with this one!

Considering I class myself as an absolute Ava Max Stan, I’m just a little meh about this. I mean I enjoy it and compared to most songs in the charts these days, it’s a bop but I have such high standards for her and I’m not sure this lives up to them

I think this is done already, she’s always had the advantage of picking up in europe but she’s started getting dropped from playlist due to its spotify performance
I don't see the fuss with this one sadly, her weakest to date for me.
Shame this doesn't seem to be doing much. Hanging on at 100 this week. I'm not sure if they are going to pick this up unfortunately. Deserves to do well for her as it's a literal banger :(

Edited by Roba.

This isn't awful or anything but it really just sounds extremely derivative of all the other 80s revival hits of late, it doesn't feel like it offers anything novel in itself. Then again that doesn't stop Becky Hill repeatedly getting big hits releasing the same shit over and over (and also certain rappers even if their repetitive offerings are generally more to my taste x) so that probably shouldn't be much of an obstacle.
At this stage of its release I expected Maybe You're The Problem to be fighting for a Top 40 placement, not struggling to stay in the Top 100.
Will she bring back the blonde, GaGA-inspired wig if this doesn't take off?

More often than not it takes a while for Ava Max's singles to warm up in the UK charts! We're only four weeks into the release of 'Maybe You're the Problem' so far.

I know that the following two examples are singles that were released when the chart goes Christmas mad, though after that it still took them quite a few more weeks to become big hits. She's queen of the slow burn! (For these chart runs I'm only going as far as the week they reached their peaks):

It's not in yesterday's chart update so perhaps that does indicate the beginning of the end for this single's chart life, though based on previous form I'd say it's still a little too early to completely write it off.

I think her biggest problem is her UK label not wanting to spend any $$$ on Spotify playlists

her Eu labels are much better than that, in Scandinavia all her songs get crazy Spotify playlist

I remember songs like Salt being track #1 on every playlist here in Scandinavia

while getting zero zero zero support in the UK...
