May 20, 20224 yr Author Afternoon all! As always, NO SPOILERS PLEASE! Rooting for Sam today as much as I obviously love As It Was!
May 20, 20224 yr The most interesting singles chart week for me in ages - of course for the #1 battle (c'mon Sam!) but I'm also loving Kendrick's album which should be represented by 3 songs, new My Chemical Romance and Kalush Orchestra's Eurovision winner out of the potential newbies. Not sure if the latter will have held on but keeping everything crossed for MCR!

May 20, 20224 yr Really hoping Sam gets it but I'm still not convinced despite all this effort. Probably cause of the estimated on Thursdays really. It'd do more for him than Harry getting another week only to find himself being #1 next week anyway. Hoping MCR have held on and maybe Maneskin too. Rock variety would be much welcomed but the latter is probably still not going to make it. "Both of them come 42 & 41 respectively with Ukraine at 43" Edited May 20, 20224 yr by Roba.

The cd singles have to have been added to his total since they were all shipped yesterday and i just recieved mine, and we saw the power of the cd single with ed/taylor's TJATQ (#6 in the mids, up to #2 after the cd singles were shipped early!) so i'm hopeful hes done it!
May 20, 20224 yr Author  Missed the top 40 this week? Paolo Nutini Through The Echoes 1st / 2nd single from Last Night In The Bittersweet Released: 11th May 2022 Label: Atlantic Records UK Video yHt3GVVy-EE Biography In much the same way that José González hails from Sweden and not Spain, Paolo Nutini is not a smooth Italian pop star, but rather a soul-influenced adult alternative songwriter from Paisley, Scotland. Raised in a music-loving family, he grew up listening to a range of folk, opera, jazz, and his father's R&B favorites. Shortly after discovering homegrown folkies like John Martyn, the teenaged Nutini left school to focus on his own musical development, eventually moving from Paisley to London at age 16 and garnering attention via local gigs. He inked a deal with the British arm of Atlantic Records two years later, just several weeks after his 18th birthday. Working with Coldplay and Badly Drawn Boy producer Ken Nelson, Nutini generated an impressive amount of buzz before his first single, "Last Request," was released in the early summer of 2006. He appeared at special Atlantic Records showcases at Carnegie Hall and the Montreux Jazz Festival, as well as opening for the Rolling Stones and Paul Weller. Nutini's debut album, These Streets, was ultimately released in July 2006 alongside his second single, "Jenny Don't Be Hasty." The album fared quite well in the U.K., where it climbed to double-platinum status and sent four singles into the Top 40. Accordingly, an American release followed in January 2007. For Nutini's second album, the songwriter took a more active role in the production, partnering with Ethan Johns but helming much of the material himself. The resulting record, Sunny Side Up, appeared in June 2009, featuring increased contributions from Nutini's backing band and a bright, sprightly disposition. Sunny Side Up was a number one hit in the U.K. -- one of the biggest-selling albums of the year -- and went on to claim Best Album at the Ivor Novello Awards. Nutini entered the studio in 2011 to begin sessions for his third album, and an appearance on Johnny Boy Would Love This...A Tribute to John Martyn was followed in 2011 by performances at Glastonbury, Latitude, and the Montreux Jazz Festival, before Nutini reached his (arguably) largest ever audience as part of London's 2012 Olympics Games concert at Hyde Park. Following his heavy tour scheduling and a breakup with his childhood sweetheart, Nutini took time away from music to rediscover the inspiration that was the driving force behind his first two records, and returned to his hometown Paisley. Eventually, the songs began flowing and Nutini recorded his third record, Caustic Love, which featured American vocalist Janelle Monáe; it was released in April of 2014. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2006 05 Last Request -1- MILLIONAIRE 2006 20 Jenny Don't Be Hasty -2- 2006 27 Rewind -3- 2007 21 New Shoes -4- 2009 19 Candy -1- 2009 62 Coming Up Easy -2- 2009 17 Pencil Full Of Lead -3- 2010 51 10/10 -4- 2014 40 Better Man -IG- 2014 12 Scream (Funk My Life Up) -1- 2014 42 Iron Sky -3- 2014 47 Let Me Down Easy -2- 2022 __ Through The Echoes -1- 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 5 x Top 20 | 8 x Top 40 | 12 x Top 100 Social Media Paolo Nutini http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
May 20, 20224 yr Author  Missed the top 40 this week? Tate McRae what would you do? 3rd single from i used to think i could fly Released: 13th May 2022 Label: RCA Records Video oD2vm60fAXw Biography All it took for Tate McRae to make the jump from international dance phenom to teenage pop sensation was a viral YouTube video—and a whole lot of talent, of course. After spending most of her childhood racking up competitive-dance awards, as well as reaching the finals on the 13th season of the television show So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation, the young Canadian surprised fans by uploading an original song to her already popular channel. Titled “One Day,” the captivatingly emotional ballad garnered millions of views by the end of 2017. More YouTube clips soon followed, each one marrying artful alt-pop melodies to beats and effects inspired by hip-hop and R&B that very much mirror her dancing style, itself a fusion of conservatory training with cutting-edge street moves. Another key quality—and a timeless one when it comes to teen pop—is a disarming honesty born out of being young and insecure. Add up these ingredients, and the result is a sound that shares quite a lot in common with the innovative future-looking pop of Billie Eilish, who along with her brother and collaborator FINNEAS penned “Tear Myself Apart,” the aching lead single from McRae’s first EP for RCA, 2019’s all the things i never said. The following year, the vocalist scored another hit with the self-penned “you broke me first,” a ferociously honest tale of heartache that proves that although dancing is what put McRae on the map, it’s music that has propelled her to stardom. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2020 03 you broke me first -1- MILLIONAIRE 2021 46 You (Regard, Troye Sivan & Tate McRae) 2021 82 that way -1- 2021 52 feel like shit -1- 2022 14 she's all i wanna be -2- 2022 36 chaotic -PS- 2022 __ what would you do? -3- 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 2 x Top 20 | 3 x Top 40 | 6 x Top 100 Social Media Tate McRae http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
May 20, 20224 yr Tate looked quite low in the mids, hopefully her album dropping next week can give it a boost, as what would you do deserves as much success as shes all i wanna be! such a banger!
May 20, 20224 yr Not expecting Kalush to be in the top 40 but I'll be tentatively tuning in just in case, not every week you hear something different or interesting on the chart show (same also applies to MCR) though if that 21 Reasons garbage pops up I may end up bailing very quickly
May 20, 20224 yr Paolo's first lead single off an album to miss top 40. I guess that's what 8 years away does and also streaming now involved plus a rather subtle song. Hopefully Tate can grab another top 40 with this in a few weeks or something! Edited May 20, 20224 yr by Roba.
