Looks like it's had a reset to SCR to be that high.

Unrelated but Kendrick's United In Grief appears to have re-overtaken Father Time.

Can songs over 3 years old get back onto SCR? Is Brazil allowed to because it's never charted before?

Brilliant Top 5 album sales this week, really happy with Def Leppard almost on 10k already which means top 4 looks very safe for them, im surprised Ed Sheeran isnt on higher sales with the tour edition out this week, i really thought it would be top 3.
So we’ve got Brazil and Peru in the charts? Looking forward to a cover of Ecuador soon.

Bring back the Sash original.

I’m amazed Will Young is top 5!

Good to see Sam Ryder also holding up

Is ACR only a thing in UK charts? So irritating that it exists to make the chart more aesthetically pleasing and yet Kate Bush can be screwed out of a massive re-entry despite having one of the most listened to songs of the week.

I think Ireland have exactly the same chart system as we do - both are run by Official Chart Company so they have ACR. Can anyone confirm?

Bit disappointed in the Kunts (although I'd be hyprocritical as not bought it) - would have been nice for a record punching up socially to do well in the charts with all this worship of undeserved wealth and power orgy going on. Let's see how it does on iTunes on Thursday/Friday though.

pretty sure the irish charts have only been run by occ since 2017 when they got the rights to it but not 100% sure on this

Does Declan McKenna’s ‘Brazil’ showing up in the charts mean it’s not on ACR?

I was referring to Brazil :D can't imagine it would be that high otherwise!

They allowed a James Arthur song from 2016 to be given a reset which they shouldn’t have

Couldnt disagree more

The criteria should be how many weeks a song has been on the charts

Not from what year the song is

If a song has never charted, it doesnt matter if its from 1971 or 2022, should be on SCR cos its been 0 weeks in the charts

So glad Brazil is on SCR

Really hope they put Kate Bush on SCR, it would be absolutely incredible to see her in the top 40!
OCC usually grant resets for songs that haven't been hits before, provided a reset's actually been requested. I couldn't see them granting one to Kate Bush if one's requested, it's been a huge hit already, but that's not to say it won't still get pretty decently high up the chart despite the ACR handicap.

Which song was it?

Not that I'm complaining at all but 'Brazil' is more than 3 years old so why would it be on SCR? At the label's request?
I forgot that Declan had never had a top 100 single before - I don't think 'Brazil' is one of my faves from him but I haven't heard it for years tbf, will need to revisit. 'Humongous', 'British Bombs' and 'Be An Astronaut' all deserved to be huge though!
