I think Kylie fans are probably the most notorious for this.

Well on that basis the Kylie live album released the other week would have got to #1 rather than #40 then?

Everyone’s still so pressed over her beating Little Mix when she had less formats than them

I agree with you hun!

Little mix are no more anyway, so why is everyone so pressed? Kylie has seen off many artists over the years. She has seen acts come and go! And she is still snatching those number 1 albums. Why can people not accept other artists instead of the constant moan fest. It is boring!

Just Carol Honey x

Can we not start this again please

Oh yeah, I'm truly pressed about that one!

Kate already top 40 *.*

I actually forgot that Liam G's previous album only did 68k first week - impressive that he is looking to improve on that by a decent margin with this one.

is kate in the top 40 on acr or has she been manually reset? cos if shes at #35 on acr and she manages a reset im sure she'll be top 10 by friday!

I would say that’s her ACR position!

She's (almost certainly) not going to get reset, the OCC usually only give resets (after the 3 year mark) to songs that haven't already been big hits.

to counter that though, they've done an article about RUTH and its revival due to stranger things, so maybe they might actually reset it! :)

I can't see how she'd get a reset. The song's more than 3 years old and had already been a big hit, so there's no justification for a reset. But a #35 showing on ACR has completely exceeded my expectations already! I'm looking forward to seeing just how much higher she can go, especially when the final episode airs on July 1st.

Not a very good representation of weekly music consumption if one the most listened to songs of the week is held back by arbitrary rules that make no sense and discriminate against older tracks. The chart is such a farce these days.

I mean, yeah, it’s impressive for Kate to be as high as that but it only looks impressive to those on this forum.

I'm not gonna pretend I know alot about how the charts work but with her in contention to maybe get a new chart peak with the sing surely that should be a good reason to reset it?
They didn't reset Mariah or Wham! when both released new physicals a few years back (before they had the #1 peaks) and both requested it I believe...!

This 3 year rule thing was probably just implemented to stop the Christmas songs from dominating every December (which already failed x), so for the other 11 months it basically only serves to prevent interesting older songs from crossing into the top 40 :teresa: (see: Frank Ocean's Lost being one of the biggest tracks of the year but was kept out because of this rule)
