June 29, 20223 yr Heat Waves would be out of the chart if it weren’t for streaming and sales!! I know that but their streams and sales increased because of Glastonbury. If the song wasn’t performed there, it wouldn’t have an increase and it would’ve been enough to drop out of the top 40
June 29, 20223 yr Because of how high HW still is, at least it won’t be able to get a massive increase to go back to SCR Edited June 29, 20223 yr by Hadji
June 29, 20223 yr Honestly, IDK where green green grass is getting its sales from. It is barely top 10 apple and outside top 10 spotify. Maybe the OCC have mistook its sales figures for Glimpse of Us's sales figures LOL :D Edited June 29, 20223 yr by Y'all Starlight
June 29, 20223 yr It's top 5 on Amazon (I think, their chart is still mystifying to me as there seems to be several different versions of it but it was #4 in a chart posted the other day in the streaming thread) Joji has been picking up outside Spotify but he's still higher there than anywhere else - a little surprised that he doesn't look set to climb again this week but he has dropped off a little on Spotify I think so I guess that's cancelling out the gains from other platforms at the moment.
June 29, 20223 yr Because of how high HW still is, at least it won’t be able to get a massive increase to go back to SCR That would be hilarious
June 30, 20223 yr Why are some of you so pressed about Heat Waves? It's just the least offensive and the most one-size-fits-all song on charts right now (even more so than the songs by Ed Sheeran) so no wonder is there hovering until forever. It doesn't mean it's good, and it doesn't mean Glass Animals are suddenly super popular (they are not, the album charted only for a few weeks). Edited June 30, 20223 yr by Sour Candy
June 30, 20223 yr It’s just a classic for me, never seems to get old and just sounds great on a hot day. Wouldn’t mind if it hung around the charts forever tbh.
June 30, 20223 yr It’s just a classic for me, never seems to get old and just sounds great on a hot day. Wouldn’t mind if it hung around the charts forever tbh. Agreed the song is great and still sounds fresh to me. However, I do feel it has had its time top 40 and it’s presence now is potentially blocking other songs breaking into the top 40. Can spend eternity at the bottom end of the chart like Mr Brightside for all I care still.
June 30, 20223 yr It will descend on charts but veeeery slowly, like Blinding Lights did. Compared to BL, Heat Waves also climbed slowly so it's going to get at least 200 weeks in top 100 if not more.
June 30, 20223 yr Yeah, I do think it’s time in the top 40 is almost up and can see it dropping out there in the next 2-3 weeks, but after that it will probably hang around in the top 75 for months and months I reckon, and also when hot weather does come I expect it will get a small boost each time.
June 30, 20223 yr still love the song and don't care if it charts forever in the 41-100 section but rather have something new in the t40
June 30, 20223 yr I Think heat waves will become one of the most known songs never to get to no. 1 let alone no. 2, no.3 or no. 4.
June 30, 20223 yr Thing is, when it first came out it wasn’t that big at all, it took till 2021 to begin to blow up even though it was released in 2020, I remember radio 1 first playlisting it before it got big and I heard it and liked it but never thought it would become this big, I also remember it featuring in the playlist of fifa 21 so hearing it constantly on there, all before it blew up.
June 30, 20223 yr I dread to think what Americans are saying on their version of Buzzjack as 'Heat Waves' made no.1 for 5 weeks, is still top 10 in its 75th week on the Billboard and pretty sure it will smash The Weeknd's 90 week record on the Billboard Top 100. :kink:
June 30, 20223 yr in the US every big hits charts for like 60 weeks minimum :D so I guess they're used to it :D
