July 8, 20224 yr It's not exactly an unique dance tune as there's been lots of these types way back in the past but it makes such a refreshing change from all the generic and bland dance that's been bombarding the chart this year. I would say it is one of the most distinctive dance songs of the year, especially with it’s unusual structure. Very different to the other number ones of the year, so glad it made it.

July 8, 20224 yr I do wonder when the hype will start to die down, she is doing >500k a day on Spotify still, a week after the last episodes were released I reckon she's going to spend a very long time in the chart, the song being #1 for all of the month between the ST vol.1 and 2 release gives that indication. Could very well end up with 100+ weeks. Perhaps I could be wrong and it'll do a "Bruno" and fall off when ST is old news but given the song is already an established classic and doesn't really need context to get I don't think so.

Might be my favourite Number 1 for a couple of years that isn’t an old song! :D ...although in a way it kind of is an old song, in fact even older than Kate Bush's, as it's ripped straight from a track from 1979 with not a lot really added to it from the original :kink: (quite similar to Majestic's slight coat of paint added to 'Rasputin'). The original song seems to be rather obscure though - it's not even available to download or stream from any official source - so unlike the Majestic track it might as well be brand new to 99% of its audience. non cheesy no nonsense dance track Not this again
