Priti Awful has confirmed she won't be running, praise be!

Don't worry, she'd probably have been on the bleeding hearted liberal wing the way this contest is currently going!

I've been expecting Sunak will probably be the next Tory leader for a while and still feeling that way now. I just get the feeling they're going to assume Sunak is the most electable because people know him from giving out stimulus money and whatnot (whether that's actually true is another question).

Mordaunt seems like she's probably the least overtly objectionable out of the candidates who have an existent chance I guess? But that might just be because she's the one I know the least about (note I don't profess to know that much about any of these people). So voted for her in the second poll but I would abstain if I was able to xx

inb4 Chishti steamrolls it

Badenoch is evil, I'm pretty sure of that after watching her campaign speech earlier and she absolutely cannot get anywhere near winning this.

Plus after researching further I'm also certain she's a massive homophobe.

I don't think its going to be Sunak - he'll get to the final 2, but I'm sure he'll lose to whoever he is up against.

He's too much affiliated with Johnson - despite him trying to distance himself as someone more credible. Plus he is associated with Partygate, doing little to help the current cost of living crisis and the raising of taxes is something which is going to be used against him.

My money is on Mourdant at the moment

Of the ones who could realistically get it so leaving out Tugendhat or Hunt, at this moment I think Mordaunt would be the best of a very very bad lot. I'd dread it if she loses to Truss or Badenoch which is a possibility depending on how large the extreme right are. Sunak, even if he makes it to the final 2, is too much a marked man.

As if Shapps got 2 votes! Worst of the lot.

considering the rest of them are outperforming each other in attempts to foam more at the mouth about trans people and traitors to the country, Shapps seemed positively sane. As of this moment, I know he's done some heinous Tory shite in the past too.

Predicting the survivors of tomorrow's vote to be Sunak, Mordaunt, Truss, Tugendhat, Hunt and Badenoch by a whisker, with Zahawi just losing out. Braverman, Javid and obviously Chishti seem to be gaining no traction.

The Conservative Home survey on the BBC News website puts Badenoch in second place behind Mordaunt.

A question as I am not sure: Who votes tomorrow, MPs or all Conservative party members?

Thats a bit sad about Shapps not getting through, he was one of the less extreme candidates. Never heard of Chishti which suggests he doesnt seem to have caused much controversy either.

That measures party members views which are extreme right as they have swallowed up virtually all of the UKIP members in a blatant entryism policy run by the likes of Arron Banks/Nigel Farage. Of course that's rarely talked about though.

In terms of MPs she's unlikely to get that many (thankfully) to make the last two, although who knows what may happen.

Reckon third female Prime Minister whatever happens though and sadly in this case. :nocheer:

Swelly Bravo claims to have 20 supporters. Hopefully her & truss will split the Rabid supporters and both go out second round.

badenoch sounds like a great role model from her wikipedia bio. I know Wimbledon. Merton well, where she grew up (when not abroad) and Banker hubby got into Wimbledon Village politics. Posh place. Boris Becker used to have a house there. It's quite fun walking round the area guessing the average annual income. Nothing under a million is my conservative estimate till you get further towards Wimbledon town centre with the bookies shops and less, errr shall we say, special-interest shops that easily weather market-downturns.

I've not read any comments on her party chucking out many of the elderly Windrush generation from the country. Odd considering her parents are Nigerian-born. One might have thought she might have something to say about it, but apparently a lot of her views come from her parents. Wow!

That might explain some of her reported comments on gay marriage and the like. Being gay in Nigeria, where she has also spent some time living with family, gets you 14 years in prison. Ooh, and she hacked into harriet harmon's website, is a Hard Brexit supporter, and made public questions asked by a Huffpost journo with comments like "creepy & bizarre" which led to journo getting harrassed. No wonder she loves the idea of internet wild west, she isn;t backwards on spreading the misery about to anyone who asks her questions she doesnt like.

Not keen on the State fixing problems, not fussed about Global warming, and basically an all-round decent-egg.

If you like your eggs tilting to the right, leaving you with a nasty after-taste and most likely an upset stomach, bloated from the lack of regulations to make sure they are safe and say what they claim to be on the label. Warning: do not let eggs hatch, as it's unlikely to be a fluffy little baby chicken that pops out, more likely a screaming fully-formed harpie.

It's just MPs at the moment. The members vote once the candidates have been whittled down to the final two.

Imagine Suella Braverman being your MP (and Mordaunt’s constituency being about 2 minutes away!) in this contest.

I think it’ll come down to Sunak against one of Mordaunt or Truss with the non-Rishi candidate getting it by offering red meat to the Tory Members. In partisan terms I’d hope Penny doesn’t get it as I think she’s the only one who’s potentially dangerous due to being the only one in possession of any brains.

And how tragic it is that Rishi Sunak of all people is seen as being on "the left", he's an arch right wing Brexiteer. who doesn't care at all about the poor The Overton Window has moved so far it's unfunny. And it's not that there's a hatchet job on him, more like a nuclear war job from all the right factions. I almost feel sorry for the guy and I dislike him.
If they think THAT HARD RIGHT WING TWAT is a communist, no wonder they wwre HYSTERICAL about Corbyn, posting videos of brainwashed soldiers shooting his photo, etc. Despicable ruling clasz in the corrupt, undemocratic UK!
They really should be trying to field a unity candidate instead of doubling down on putting all their eggs in the basket of ignorant and angry old people. That is by its very nature a finite demographic and by chasing them at the cost of being so strongly against younger people's concerns and values they are setting themselves up for a massive fall.
Pfft they are busy setting up an eternal dictatorship. All they need for now are angry and old people.
