Anyone using ‘snowflake’ or ‘woke’ have lost the argument imo. Childish abuse.

To be fair, 11 formats is excessive - I'm assuming people like Jay are having to go without food this month just to ensure he owns them all.

When Steps keep me fed, who needs food! :teresa:

^wow, thanks for the info

As others have said, Steps may have a variety of formats on offer, but that doesn't therefore mean that every fan of Steps is going to buy every single version. Some will for sure and it's their prerogative (I haven't actually got everything!!). I don't see how multiple sales per person is fake. They've bought it, it's a sale! And clearly condoned by the OCC.

Most artists play this game now. Madonna had 5 different vinyl vairants on sale - some fans may select just one, while some will have felt the need to own all five. Panic! at the Disco have 7 vinyl variants, all different colours. Demi has 5 different CDs, different artworks. There's three different Aitch cassettes. It's not like Steps are alone in this, but they happen to be attracting the most sales.

^Interesting, Madonna beating Steps on vinyls! thanks for sharing

in regards to format, for me, the more formats the better, it just gives you options

If Paolo Nutini releases 5 differenti vinyls, you look at them and you pick the one you like the most

that's what I do with all releases and all my friends do the same

you don't buy all of them, just the one you like the most

of course you'll always have super fans that buy them all but think it's a minority

what I'm amazed you have such a problem with this and call it fake

but no issue with GH albums selling 5K each week for the last 2 years

albums that no one buys or streams like Elton John-Diamonds, which has never been on the top 1500 Apple Album streams

but gets all the streams from This is Elton John... and thats 5K fake sales every week, 100% fake

I totally agree with you about the GH albums, every week they are in with fake sales. The charts are laughable and thankfully I only look at them once a year.

Why are you still here then? Isn’t your yearly look finished :kink:

This post had me screaming 😂😂😂😂 :cheer:

Of course it's sales inflation. If 1000 fans buy 16 variations that's 16,000 'sales' it's fake as f*** and totally misleading and it's pathetic that some of you can't see otherwise.

Just because that’s your opinion it doesn’t make you right and everyone else wrong.

I’m not sure why when multiple formats has been a thing for 2+ years and has always been a thing in the Uk charts for record companies to manipulate (eg: CD1 and CD2 in the physical era of the charts selling at 2 for £2 in week 1, multiple remixes and versions of a single in the download era, tracks being tacked onto an album to inflate sales in the streaming era etc.,) why it’s suddenly a huge issue for Steps? They have literally done what Yungblud, The 1975, Sam Fender, Olivia Rodrigo, Inhaler, The Killers, Coldplay, Abba, Years & Years, Bastille, The Wombats etc., done for #1 albums too?

Will LF SYSTEM go on DCL-2 this week?

Yes. Last Monday they were on 19K, this week 16K, so certainly looks like a 2nd week declining.

People saying nobody cares about the charts... but then complaining that artists care about the charts and are releasing multiple versions to chart higher? Make it make sense.

Why are we having the multi format debate again? It’s nothing new artists have been doing it for years!

A sale is a sale at the end of the day, not one artist has an advantage because they can all release multi formats if they wish too (Doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone will buy everything it’s actually a very small number of fans who will do this)

The Madonna argument is lost because she also has multiple versions (CD, 6 LP set, Silver Vinyl, Transparent vinyl etc) just because she has less versions doesn’t make Steps / Aitch’s sales any less valid.

Let’s face it you’re a Madonna fan that’s annoyed she isn’t number 1 (If Madonna has all those formats I don’t think you’d of even raised it)

The multiple versions for albums has been a long-time coming tbh. It's just like how artists used to release 4-CD's of one single way back when  I love it! If people can afford more than one version, why wouldn't artists do it more?

The only thing I kinda don't "agree" with (but absolutely understand WHY it gets done) is reducing the album mid-way through the week when your biggest and most loyal fans have already purchased the album when surely you'd want to reward them first? With pre-orders they should do "LIMITED TIME ONLY PRE-ORDER PRICE!!" or something. Keep bundles at the higher rate if you must, but individually discount each version of the album for 24 hours or a week or something. I just think it's a bit cheeky/unfair reducing the album mid-week

But like I said, I completely understand and get why they do it.

Why are you still here then? Isn’t your yearly look finished :kink:

He'll be back when either Taylor Swift, Rihanna release their next album.

It's been many moons since we can say we've had anything closely resembling a reflective album chart anyway, I don't know where this sudden outrage has emerged from.
You seem very sure of another posters intentions....

Or I can effin read

It only seems to be certain acts that cause this debate - the same happened when Kylie released ‘Disco’ and beat Little Mix
