August 24, 20224 yr Isn’t tomorrow the last sales day? Friday doesn’t count do it? So he would have to sell 7k then more than whatever steps sell tomorrow too. Baring in mind he did 1k yesterday he ain’t got a chance. Aitch won’t overtake Steps but usually albums like his get more sales than you’d think at the end of the week due to lagging streaming data.0

August 24, 20224 yr Steps will easily make over 20k now, great for them, Madonna putting in a great fight for Number 2 but 3 is likely which is still a great result for the remix album.
August 24, 20224 yr Great to see Steps will do at least 20k. Hope they hold up enough next week to stay top 10 - I have hope that as this hits collection includes Steps 2.0 stuff it will have some form of longevity.

August 24, 20224 yr Great to see Steps doing so well. Sony has done a brilliant job with the Platinum Collection. So often record companies do a poor job with incomplete 'greatest hits' CDs and in this case they've nailed it.

It seems to me that their impact on the charts is negligible now. Their playlist did used to matter before streaming completely took over.

Yeah, before streaming, there were all sorts of things that could give songs a boost - radio playlisting, TV chat show appearances, X Factor performances - but all these have a negligible effect now, the best chance a song has to do well in the chart is being present on multiple streaming playlists, or to blow up on TikTok. That's been the case for a while.

Really miss those days when a random Lana del Rey album track like Gods and Monsters would play for a few seconds on Eastenders and the song would go top 40 come Friday :)
