Snap 1 pointer with Chez - intrigued to see if both of our book-ends will be the same tbh

like Rich, colour me shocked that 'Mysterious Times' is still to come. I never would've guessed it as the highest placing Sash! song here :o

that batch of 4 are all class, but doh! at losing another pointer for me in Supergrass. Joyousness is under-rated!

not crazy about Alright, never been a fan of the song or Supergrass in general, find them more irritating than amazing :)

never got Sash either, for me it's 2nd class Eurodance #sorrynotsorry

Aw SL2 was one of the ones from my top 10 that I worried might drop out in 41-50 - avoiding that fate but only just! That's one of the biggest examples of a song I loved for years without having any clue what it was

No other losses since then but bar the Pulp song which I'm not familiar with the rest of these were all songs that weren't too far off for me, I actually knew the later 'Raindrops (Encore Une Fois)' version of Sash! first so I still prefer that version oops and similarly I know the original Suzanne Vega version of 'Tom's Diner' better than the remix (for the same reason as with Everything But The Girl's 'Missing', I know the remixes are much better known but I know the originals via my mum having them on a playlist she put on all the time when I was younger, she also had the even better imo 'Marlene On The Wall' by Suzanne on there). 'Tom's Diner' has had quite the renaissance recently with it being covered or sampled in quite a few recent UK/US hits.

Not that fussed about Encore Une Fois tbh, it's a decent enough tune but not something that leaps out at me.

Another of my votes toppling with Alright, pure Britpop classic.

Marlene On The Wall is a great song, much better than Tom's Diner (original version). Yay to your mum!

Totally agreed that Marlene On The Wall is a great track, I also prefer Luka to Tom's Diner.
Luka is another goodie, very moving considering the subject-matter is not one that lends itself to songs at all - child-abuse not the happiest of topics, and mostly avoided by songwriters.

Has this done so well due onto its recent use on adverts? Who knows but this has done very well

- Still one to come obviously.

Another mid 90s dance classic and of course in the charts more recently in a cover by Bastille. A mighty 14 voters threw points at this!

I’ve just lost 38 points from two excellent tracks :(

I am now side-eyeing at some dubious songs that are still to come that have beaten these two. Hmmmm.

Not a huge fan of Stand By Me, it was okay but was the point where I started to get bored of them.

Rhythm of the Night is a 90s classic, it will forever remind me of being the type of music you would hear played on the waltzer or the speedway at the travelling fairgrounds *.*

Always loved Stand By Me - the saving grace of Be Here Now, where for once on that album the guitar, lyrics and production add up to more than the sum of their parts.

Rhythm Of The Night is actually the second single I ever bought for myself (after Maxx - Get-A-Way)! It just dropped off my radar in the peak years of Britpop (and, well, Oasis) and I haven't quite brought it back since.

I’ve had 3 very nearly pointers in a row there. Supergrass were from where I grew up and Alright is such a great feel good track. Stand By Me is a classic and Rhythm Of The Night was #2 in one of my first weeks of following the charts.

Both excellent tracks, I agree that Stand By Me stands up to Oasis' first two albums. I'm not overly wild on the chorus, which stopped me voting for it, but the verses and bridge are fantastic.

Rhythm Of The Night wasn't far outside my votes but I couldn't vote for every 90s dance No.2 and it's not a firm favourite.

'Stand By Me' is decent but not an Oasis fave for me.

Decent result for 'The Rhythm Of The Night' but to be a broken record again I find it interesting/odd that it's so much higher than the likes of CeCe Peniston and Crystal Waters, all of these songs occupy around the same space in my mind (in fact Corona's is marginally my least favourite of the 3).

Can't believe I didn't vote for Rhythm Of The Night, that must have been an oversight on my part. Glad it's as high as 33rd anyway.

voted for Stand By Me, I actually think it's one of Oasis best songs and the only good song in album 3 together with Don't Go Away

although at that point it was clear Oasis had already peaked and would never release anything worth it again :/ sadly :/

ROTN is ok but not a super favourite

Stand By Me is Oasis-by-numbers for me, not bad but not special. Corona was a chart-topper for me but didnt have room in the votes for some points, sadly.
