I think it’ll be Taylor. As popular as the Arctics are, their last album didn’t do all that well and the first single sounds in a similar vein to that so I think they’ll be No2. Taylor I’m sure will pull out all the stops and have thousands of signed CDs to launch if she’s trailing behind.

I've gone for Arctics but think it may be closer than I originally thought
I voted AM even though I have a niggling feeling about Taylor. The fact is, if it is close, her label will pull out all the stops to get there whereas AM won’t.

I agree, Taylor is in a better position that way.

I'm looking for the Meghan Trainor option? :kink:
I feel like it'll be Arctic Monkeys who win the battle!

Taylor just announced more (amazingly pretty) vinyls :) for the US only so far but hopefully they show up in the UK store too
Maybe if it was a poll for the #40 album oop :kink:

 :kink:

NOW THEY ARE THERE! It's 4 more CD's also. And it's all very pretty. Everyone is playing this game these days.

Barely even a battle. Red is her best album ever, and that was why it was an anomaly. Arctic Monkeys will sell up to triple her sales.

No they won't, maybe they will win, sure but not even double her, it will be close.

While i think Arctic Monkeys will be Number 1 i think it will be a close enough race for number 1. Taylor more likely to sell more in the long run but arctic monkeys older albums are doing really well on streaming, nice if people would stream the new stuff aswell but it rarely happens.

taylor has put on 3 limited edition alternative vinyl/ cds that are only available for a week.

I do think she'll make the #1 album, even if its not in first week, but i have a feeling she'll debut at the top. I know the us is much much larger than the uk, but within 24 hours of the album announcement just under 90k physical copies of the album were pre-ordered there, and i thik the pre-order numbers will also be huge here too, and now with the limited edition vinyl/ cds too, i think she'll have enough to get #1. plus don't forget she does really well on streaming, whereas arctic monkeys probably won't do as well there with a new album as its mainly their older hits and well known tracks that do well there compared to newer music so i think that'll give her the edge

I think AM should get pretty good first week streams, of course the new songs will probably dip behind their older hits within a couple of weeks but there should still be a good level of initial interest (the new single did debut at #1 on Spotify after all).

Do we know how many formats AM have?

I think AM have 3 different vinyls so far, 2 on their website (black, grey) and one x indie stores (custard). Plus 1 cassette, 1 CD.

Surprised everything is still available and nothing sold out. So not very limited.

Taylor so far is only available on her store, the original vinyl announced originally

plus the 3 new variants announced this week and only available for 1 week.

Sure more formats are coming x Taylor's album, especially since it's not available on retail stores yet.

  • 3 weeks later...
Just so you all know, since last night ALL the versions (CDS AND VINYLS) of Taylor are available in all retail store, and also Amazon, HMV, Norman records and all other stores, even the deluxe lavender one as a deluxe CD. (Target in the US)
