RIGHT WING EXTREME CENTRISTS!!
I got the impression from that interview that they would try to engineer it to only be one left

I did to, however can you see the likes of Dorries, Braverman, Rees Mogg and co all falling in behind someone like Sunak?

Thanks goodness she’s gone , I’m hoping an election will get forced somehow because the government’s current position is too SILLY. They’ve failed. Take it back to the people, this ain’t 2019 anymore.

I am worried Boris will be back, I’ve heard a few people say recently that they’d want that, it’s easy to forget how atrocious the predecessor was (Cameron and May also benefit from this) but if hope it just wouldn’t happen. It’s bad enough he’ll go down in history as not being worse than his successor without letting him back in.

Haha no I cannot. This is gonna be all out Tory warfare

Hopefully the threshold is set too high for Boris to reach

If the Tories re-elect Boris, then it will just show how out of touch they really are after forcing him out over all the lies and scandals. Boris would not last as there will inevitably be more of the same.

I am NOT a centrist!!! I am a leftist, and I am immune to the centrists' propaganda, unlike you. Sorry bout it!

Well if it is Johnson (hate it when people call him Boris) then so be it. He is not popular and has to handle a horrific intray and he'll no doubt make a huge hash of things again. He has to manage the fact that the ultra right wing cabal is not popular with the electorate and the markets hate their ideals but that they are very powerful. It's the party that will get trounced again.

And at least on the brightside there will not be some other undeserving twunt getting an annual 6 figure 'Service' pay for a few months of chaos (assuming he doesn't get paid it twice).

Well, kudos to whoever had October 2022 in the 'how long will she last' poll, you were braver than I! Where's that new Iron Lady article that was put out around the time she started running? :') I almost feel sorry for her, but then I remember what she did and how she reacted and it just goes away. I'm still struggling to understand the thought process that she had behind this - incompetence and being led by their mates, arrogance, or just plain disdain for the people - whatever it was, justice has certainly been served for her reputation anyway.

Absolute disgrace of a party for them to even attempt to show credibility when going on to their third leader in the space of a year, I'd strike if I were the opposition until an election is allowed :kink: There seriously needs to be a review of who can call one as this is by no definition, democratic. We are a laughing stock of the world right now.

I can sadly see a world where Johnson returns, but it's not like he'll win any new converts, it'll be more of the same and he will have no credibility as a leader after what happened (hell, Cummings could give away even more), I would hope for the sake of humanity that it wouldn't alter their fortunes much. Sunak would probably be 'safest' for their reputation, and could potentially turn the polls around by election time worryingly, but he won't be the membership's first choice nor the right wing of the party so I doubt he'll be able to fully unite them.

Well, leadership hopefuls will need at least 100 nominations from MPs and if only one does, they will be PM. If Johnson really does get that many, then I lose hope in humanity.
The thing to bare in mind as well is that there was the 12 days of national mourning once The Queen died, so effectively Liz Truss only had 32 days as Prime Minister because everything was put on hold during that mourning period.
Wait. Aftee the "I'm not going anywhere" cover for the chancellor, the SAME SAY as he got the axe, we now have Liz's, "I'm not a quitter, I'm a fighter!' - cheered on by the Tories - the night before she quit
It’s amusing to note that her campaign for leadership actually last longer than her premiership. I’ve also been thinking about how I started my new job with Johnson as prime minister and by the time I reach my first holiday next week we’ll have our third prime minister in that time.

In one way I would like Boris to come back just so his ship can sink indefinitely and lose the next election by a massive landslide.

Hopefully we'll see a general election in the next 6 months. I find it hard to believe the party will hold on until 2024 given how much division there has been and infighting.

Boris Johnson will surely return as PM unfortunately, I can't see any other outcome. Sadly the reasons he was ousted can be all too easily forgiven and forgotten - if anything, the last few months will have strengthened his case in the eyes of many who will be casting the votes, and they can claim he still has the mandate from the last GE.

If nominations need 100 MP votes to run for contest, that will likely work against Boris even being able to run, let alone win. Or at least I think so. I'm not sure he could get the support of 100 MPs given everything that's happened.
