October 2, 20223 yr How with 100-130K lead on Spotify and the video being out, I'm Blue is ahead? Only 2 days of streams are counted in the Sunday First Look so 9/10 it doesn't really paint a good picture of what we will see at the end of the charting week. Also I'm Blue was ahead in real sales last week which of course has greater impact on the first look. Edited October 2, 20223 yr by braindeadpj
October 3, 20223 yr I've always been an advocate of automatic resetting of tracks, even if on permanent ACR, when an artist or band member passes away so they can get a re-entry and play in the top 40 (if successful enough) as a nice tribute effect.
October 3, 20223 yr I've always been an advocate of automatic resetting of tracks, even if on permanent ACR, when an artist or band member passes away so they can get a re-entry and play in the top 40 (if successful enough) as a nice tribute effect. I agree with that completely. I suspect we'd only see 3 or 4 weeks of activity before many of them would return to ACR.
October 3, 20223 yr George Michael's re-issue of Older is surprisingly #1 in albums ahead of Slipknot by 2.5K Snuts at 3, Craig David at 4, Yeah Yeahs at 5, Bjork at 6, Pixies at 7 and the re-issue of Shakespeare's Sister-Hormonally Yours at #8 Edited October 3, 20223 yr by Bjork

October 3, 20223 yr Had a feeling people were overlooking George Michael, his last re-issue in 2017 of 'Life Without Prejudice' did get to #1 on sales of 56,088.
October 3, 20223 yr I was expecting Slipknot to be number 1 today so with over 2k lead George Michael could hold on. I really hope Bjork can stay top 10.
October 3, 20223 yr Didn’t even realise Older was being re-released! Honestly deserves another week at #1, amazing album, hope it pulls it off.
October 3, 20223 yr I was thinking that looked a bit disappointing for Bjork, but then her last top 10 album was 2007. I tried listening to her new one on Spotify, it just leaves me completely cold.
October 3, 20223 yr Best George Michael album  I was rather hoping Craig David would actually chart at ##22
October 3, 20223 yr so a 'new' top 8 (topped and tailed by reissues) Would be nice if it stayed like that. The album chart has been extremely stale with the same albums and GH albums hanging around for a long time.
October 3, 20223 yr Oooh, and also really good for the YYYs! Hope they can retain top 5 or even get their highest charting album to date.
October 3, 20223 yr There will likely have been decent vinyl sales for the George Michael album, Older is one of those albums that previously fetched ridiculous sums because of the lack of copies pressed in the 90s. Plus all variants sold out incredibly quickly before all of them getting restocked because of the high demand.
October 3, 20223 yr I didn't make a prediction for the #1 album this week but I had no idea the George Michael re-issue was even happening so I'd have been wrong probably! #5 at the moment for Yeah Yeah Yeahs seems decent especially as it's only behind other new/re-entries, hope they can stay top 10 at least. Ooh at Denzel Curry as high as #11 - came out earlier this year but it got a vinyl release this week (+ a deluxe version with 2 new songs and a bunch of alternate versions although that probably isn't a big factor). I know I said this last week about Swedish House Mafia and got burnt but suuuurely this time should be safe to get a new peak (it got to #73 before, his highest charting album to date got to #61 so hoping there is a chance this beats that too. Cue it being #74). Nice to see Shygirl charting as well! Would be nice if it stayed like that. The album chart has been extremely stale with the same albums and GH albums hanging around for a long time. The top 10 has a bunch of new releases all the time, the issue is they all only last one week so 11-100 is mostly the same every week (and still is now). Oooh, and also really good for the YYYs! Hope they can retain top 5 or even get their highest charting album to date. One and the same - their highest charting album before only got to #7!
October 3, 20223 yr One and the same - their highest charting album before only got to #7! I am aware. What I meant was, if it can't keep top 5 getting their highest charting album to date at #6 would also be nice.
October 3, 20223 yr Craig David not doing too well. He should have stocked the deluxe version of his album in shops and Amazon. Stupid that you can only buy the deluxe version on iTunes and you gotta wait until 14th October to buy it on physical
