How much money is this actually going to raise for The Trussell Trust from, say 100k sales? The Trust has annual expenditure of £10.68m looking at their last budget - so if downloads are 79p and Apple takes c.30p and the record company takes c.42p - LB is left with 7p from each download to donate - about £7,000 against an annual expenditure of £10.68m.

The whole thing is performative nonsense.

I had a look at the most recent Annual Report for the Trussell Trust (for the 20/21 year). Although Ladbaby's chart success is mentioned, it doesn't explicitly state how much of their income came from Ladbaby's campaign, and the notes of the account don't seem to shed any light on this either, I'm presuming the money raised for it is within the "Donations & Grants" part of their Fundraising income of £51.3m, but it doesn't give a breakdown of where this money came from. They aren't mentioned by name in the "Restricted Funds" note in the account either, which suggests that they haven't explicitly asked for the money to be used for one purpose or another.

I also couldn't find any media reporting of how much money they've raised each year (albeit it was a very quick search, there may be some article I've missed), although I imagine a request for information could be raised with the Trussell Trust or the Charity Commission to find out this information.

Although I'm sure Ladbaby could donate some of the £1.5m in cash they have in the company registered in their name relating to Ladbaby-related activities, which posted a presumed profit* of £600k in the year to August 2021.

*Presumed as it is the difference in Reserves from one year to the next, he may have taken out dividends on top of this.

The downloads are 99p and what record company? It'll be more than 7p.

Plus the extra publicity they generate for the charity encourages donations. Last year they were said to have raised £200,000 from the singles.

Well there is a line in last year's one about every pound from this song goes to helping people along

I think once he's released 12 consecutive Christmas singles - known colloquially as 'the 12 singles of hell' (each one progressively worse and more damaging to both society as a whole and its ears) -we then get 'the great ASR RESET', as prophesied by conspiracy theorists but much derided by the liberal intelligentsia. At this point all matter in the known universe becomes sausage roll.

Martin Lewis tweeted the other day that last year single made 97,000 for them

...and maybe it'll raise as much cash as their version last year (£97,000).

If you enjoy it, & can afford pls feel free to donate a little (cash, food, time) to

@TrussellTrust

or your local food bank.

Don't enjoy it and hate novelty songs/me/ladbaby pls feel free to donate anyway

So if 100,000 people pledge to pay a pound if he doesn't release a single next year, we could raise more money and save the nation's ears.

Ladbaby and Elton John and Ed Sheeran could easily have raised that amongst themselves, without asking us poor people to do it instead  All ego.
Judging by the slightly lowbeat video they just put out on youtube about the chart race so far, they must have seen early midweeks that suggest that they aren't doing that well this year. They did quote that they've had 85,000 streams so far but Mariah has had 2.5m in the same time.

Hopefully it's egg on their face and the charity grifters will stop it. This last one, comparing the UK to a famine, and jumping on and repurposing a charity cause that already exists is just ... WOW!

Just donate the money from your egregiously high earnings, Ladbaby, which are only so high thanks to your charity campaign anyway! You can now fund the 100k donation yourself. Done. Or ... is it about your ego?

Mariah beating them on streams at the moment

That’s not a surprise, charity songs (including LadBaby’s, bar last year) pretty much always do poorly on streaming.

LMAOOOO

This is genuinely one of the funniest things I've seen in a while!

Love when arrogant people are humbled and get knocked back down to reality.

Saying it’s the best way to donate to the charity is a bit much

Also it means absolutely nothing, it’s merely a promo tactic to try and boost their download figures.
