February 26, 20232 yr Doing this as we're about to enter March because Why not My big initial predictions were Sam Smith & Raye getting a #1 single and album when their respective albums dropped Sam Smith - Got a #1 Album with Gloria, but their highest charting Single that week was at #23 RAYE - Escapism reached #1 but on M21CB's release week she was stuck at #2 on both charts :( new predictions 26th of 2 -A trans/nonbinary popstar will get their highest charting top 20 hit (I would've been right w Miley Cyrus but I think another will do it too, potentially Lil Uzi Vert or less likely Kim Petras or hopefully some1 better) -RAYE will get 2 more top 20 singles -There will be 3 Dance #1's this year -at least 2 of Aitch, Central Cee & KSI will get their 1st #1 single this year -Rina Sawayama represents UK for Eurovision and wins and gets her first lead hit single -More than 1 decades old song hits a new peak this year -LadBaby won't get the XMas #1, either by not releasing or just charting below #1, and hopefully a song that hasn't reached #1 reaches it in December, either a XMas song that isn't Wham/MC or a new campaign song, honestly might be the Kunts if they can play their cards right gonna add more later

December 4, 20231 yr - RAYE gets the first #1 single of 2022 a la abcdefu except it doesn't get blocked in the first week by a reset old #1 - right! - off the back of Escapism. her debut album does well and goes #1 too, a big f*ck you to her old label polydor - close, got to #2 - Joel Corry & Ella Henderson release a song but, like HISTORY and Lionheart it doesn't do very well - I wouldn’t say 0800 heaven did badly but it wasn’t a smash - Central Cee unfortulately gets his first #1 single - inevitable - Taylor releases Speak Now TV in early 2023, Jan-March time, and it goes #1. 1989 TV comes out in the peak of summer and has huge opening week, possibly as big as Midnights dates wrong, sn was summer and 1989 was Oct. Sales was right for 1989 tho - Doja Cat & Lil Nas X both kick off new album eras and have at least one hit each - doja yes, I’d say 2 hits w agora hills. Nothing from lil nas x tho - Dua Lipa releases her 3rd album and it becomes the best selling album of the year, plus a #1 single - no album yet. I guess I was right w the #1, though I assumed it would be from the album - Sam Smith & Ed Sheeran's collab is expected to do well but ends up underperforming, the Sam Smith album also underperforms but has another decent sized hit like Diamonds - album underperformed. So did Ed song but icl I don’t think anyone expected much. And I guess I’m not here to make friends was a small hit but diamonds was bigger - Ed Sheeran releases '-' but it doesn't do as well as '=', though he still gets another #1 single - yup - Rihanna releases a smash single before her superbowl performance followed by a new album - nope - Jess Glynne makes a return - a return yes. Nothing big though - Clean Bandit end up collabing with Jess Glynne or Anne-Marie again because its a formula that works and their new stuff is all rubbish - did they even release this year? - Olivia Rodrigo returns and her new album is as big as SOUR - sales wise yes - Little Mix solo singles - all do well except for Jesy - only Leigh Anne released lmao - Lewis Capaldi's album does well but is nowhere near as big as his first one - sales big but over time yeah nowhere near as big as his debut - Ava Max *fingers crossed* finally gets a hit from her new album smilar in size to Kings & Queens or My Head & My Heart. I can see it being Dancing's Done if it gets sped up viral on tiktok - aawhh shame - Lana's album is a big #1 album, but no singles make the top 40 from it. - oop I jinxed a&w - Coi Leray's Players becomes a hit after its recent TikTok virality - yup - Disney release another musical film, hoping to replicate Encanto's success, but fails - they’re trying with wish and the Disney cards on tiktok tbh - The Sampling trend continues, and at one stage 1/4 of the top 40 will be songs that contain prominent samples - probably happened tbh. Lots more samplez - Metro Boomin, The Weeknd & 21 Savage's song Creepin' does well in the new year allowing the producer to expand in the uk and become more of a chart regular (low end) chart regular - Maneskin's new album is a #1 but they fail to get another top 40 (though i hope this is false and they do actually get another one!) I was right - P!nks album is a big seller, but she doesn't have a hit out of it like she has in the past. Instead one of her older songs goes viral and that goes back to the top 40 instead - nope 2 good sized hits from trustfall! - No new Ariana music this year as she prepares for Wicked, and she prioritises that. - her only release was die4u remiz - Miney Cyrus' new era is big, #1 album and top 10 single. She does another Dua Lipa collab - smash single but no Dua Team up - Anne-Marie releases her 3rd album off the back of PSYCHO's success. There are a few top 40 hits but none as big as PSYCHO - unhealthy was big but not psycho big - Heartstopper S2 causes a single from it (hopefully Baby Queen) to take off and go top 40 wishful thinking - Maisie Peters finally makes the Top 40 and starts her 2nd album era, with the album dropping in sept/ october and this time goes #1 still no top 40. #1 album though! - Mimi Webb's single Red Flags, which she's been teasing on tiktok, become sher first top 5 and her biggest hit to date. the album reaches #2 and is fairly successful - song didn’t go top 10 but was a decent sized hit. Album made #4 iirc - Adele & Ed Sheeran collab in Q4 :lol: nothing from Adele - SZA has 2 long running hits from SOS, Kill Bill makes the top 5 and another one takes off on tiktok later in the year. - omg?! Snooze I'll probs come back and add more as i think of them, these were the best ones off the top of my head! Overall I was quite accurate!
