February 16, 20232 yr I'm quite ashamed to say I can still hum the chorus of 'Give Me a Reason' and 'Speechless' despite the fact I only heard them a couple of times at the time.
February 16, 20232 yr Shaggy’s Luv Me Luv Me and Hey Sexy Lady sprang to mind for me yesterday too. Clearly only hits off the back of the success of It Wasn’t Me and Angel, and Me Julie. Also Bhangra Knights and Husan? Who has heard that since 2003? Edited February 16, 20232 yr by gooddelta
February 16, 20232 yr Also Bhangra Knights and Husan? Who has heard that since 2003? Actually that one I still listen to actively now and then, back to back with Mundian To Bach Ke normally. But on the radio I've only ever heard it on that Radio 1 One Hit Wonders show about 6 or 7 years ago.
February 16, 20232 yr Author The Twang 'Either Way' as well. Indie fans would probably remember it mind but forgotten for others.
February 16, 20232 yr Hands up who remembers that Raghav had 4 top 10 hits? 24/01/2004 2Play Featuring Raghav And Jucxi So Confused 6 8-{6}-9-7-10-12-18-29-38-50-64-69-75->13 28/02/2004 Raghav Can't Get Enough 10 {10}-17-26-41-58-71-67-66->8 22/05/2004 2Play Featuring Raghav And Naila Boss It Can't Be Right 8 {8}-15-21-33-46-66-74->7 19/02/2005 Raghav Angel Eyes 7 {7}-15-25-39-49-56->6 Can't Get Enough is an absolute bop by the way

I loved 2Play and iirc I really liked Raghav's songs too! Another one I loved but it's definitely not remembered about anymore: VS - Love You Like Mad (#07) m9RbTerpSPI Marvin (a.k.a Rochelle from The Saturdays husband/the 2nd best one from JLS) first group! All their songs were BANGERS especially their follow-ups (Call U Sexy (#11) & Make It Hot (#29)). They tried to capitalise on that singing cherry advert at the time too my covering 'If You Leave Me Now' as their final single.
February 16, 20232 yr m60XKqEEnfg This early #10 hit from 2003 from rapper Cam'ron and Juelz Santana.
February 16, 20232 yr Author ldgFcZ4tcnw I wasn't following at the time but for some reason assumed that missed top 10 so didn't think of it for this thread lol. I really like that one though  Although since it was top 10 yeah it is indeed a forgotten one.
February 16, 20232 yr m60XKqEEnfg This early #10 hit from 2003 from rapper Cam'ron and Juelz Santana. One of my very faves from 2003
February 16, 20232 yr I feel like 2004 was the key year for random/forgotten top 10 hits. Probably because it was so much easier for just about anything to get there before downloads were added in '05?
February 16, 20232 yr 2004-2006 are my 3 favourite years after 2009 for music. I feel like they were definitely the most "diverse" years for chart music! Pop, rnb, rock, indie, dance... every genre felt like they had a few smashes.
February 16, 20232 yr I feel like 2004 was the key year for random/forgotten top 10 hits. Probably because it was so much easier for just about anything to get there before downloads were added in '05? Yeah, I think 2004 is pretty much the year when sales were really in the gutter. I feel like this thread will probably be dominated by tracks from the early-to-mid-00s for that reason alone; add that missing the top ten in that era meant you'd pretty much get dropped as a pop artist, so acts threw everything and the 'itchen sink at even their most bland singles.
February 16, 20232 yr The Twang 'Either Way' as well. Indie fans would probably remember it mind but forgotten for others. Loved this back in the day! Sounds really dated now though :(
February 16, 20232 yr Actually that one I still listen to actively now and then, back to back with Mundian To Bach Ke normally. But on the radio I've only ever heard it on that Radio 1 One Hit Wonders show about 6 or 7 years ago. It also got played on the noughties show a few weeks back
February 16, 20232 yr -smIiKYnP7o Also Bhangra Knights and Husan? Who has heard that since 2003? I love this *.* like Dobbo I re-discovered it from Radio 1's One Hit Wonders of the Millennium show. I don't think I've heard it in the wild since then though, to be fair
All amazing there!
February 16, 20232 yr Yes it’s harder to think of forgotten top ten hits from 2008/9, especially the extremely sluggish 2008. At least you could argue most songs got to the top ten on merit that year and not because of quick fanbase sales. Actually I do have a good one from then: 4mL8Rg2yXtg Definitely couldn’t hum this from memory if I tried and it got to No.3!
February 16, 20232 yr Author Peaked at #4 but don't recall it much despite playing it at the time. qXbWfq0JE9M Also not one that All Saints fans will forget but again for a lot of people this doesn't seem to remembered nowadays (noticed it in Rich's thread though) xDHszQll5Tc
February 16, 20232 yr NxpZnqDxlFY I was reminded of this recently because of the new Switch Disco ft Ella Henderson track - as it is another example of a dance track that uses Robert Miles style classical piano although this Artful Dodger ft. Michelle Escoffery track doesn't sample Robert Miles. 'Do You Think About Me' is great, the piano makes it a very lovely song. Edited February 16, 20232 yr by TheSnake
