March 3, 20232 yr I heard a new name - Mae Muller… :nocheer: The BBC source leaked Alesha and Hannah as hosts but Hannah was the biggest exclusive they ever lost out on because they didn’t believe it could be true.
March 3, 20232 yr I like Mae Muller, have seen her live in concert before and she can sing, has a great personality and can hold a crowd very easily. As long as it wasn't a generic dance song but something more like Jenny or Therapist then I'd be happy with it. The Birdy song is good but doesn't sound anything like a televote hit. Juries yes.
March 3, 20232 yr Mae posted a new video on TikTok for a track called I Wrote A Song two days ago. It's very Anne-Marie vocals meets a sped up Shape Of You backing track, it sounds very catchy and like a contemporary chart hit. Probably not jury bait, not sure about the televote. Could go either way. I think she's great though, she's been lumbered on generic dance collaborations of late, probably insisted on by her label to get hits and playlisting, but some of her solo stuff is brilliant. I think the fandom would absolutely slate the choice though.
March 3, 20232 yr I do also think there’s a realistic possibility that we’re now clambouring on any female British artist to promote their upcoming release
March 3, 20232 yr Is it safe to admit that I'd (almost) completely slept on Rina until these rumours? (I loved 'LUCID', but somehow never bothered to dig deeper... 'Beg For You' is OK, I guess? 🤷♂️) We need to send her. She'd be SO GOOD. 'This Hell' would be perfect, but I'm guessing that was released too long ago? 'Frankenstein' seems like a solid shout, but not sure it screams "winner". Who knows? Maybe I just need to give it a few more plays! If we do send her, watch her smash in at 20ish, as all my faves do... 🤣 Last year an offensive amount of my Top 10 DNQ'd (and most of my ideal DNQ's qualified...) Mimi Webb's new song (not sure I've heard much from her before... When did I become so out of touch with newish music? Lol) would be a good shout too! Birdy's new one would definitely put us back in the bottom few places... I'm sure the BBC would want to avoid that on home soil... This is the first year that I've been confident, before the song was revealed (since maybe Jade to Blue [genuinely think they thought they were onto something with the SAW song...]), that the BBC won't be actively trying to sabotage our entry*, at least... 🤣🤣 (Molly and Sam were pleasent surprises...) March 3, 20232 yr Rina or Freya would be good picks I think. Mimi and Ellie... nah (unless it's 'Red Flags' which is most unlikely).
March 3, 20232 yr @1631630033059037187 "The song would usually be released around now"... Just tell us ffs. LMAO. :/
March 3, 20232 yr The way that the bbc drag this out every single year to unveil the most mediocre shite imaginable should be studied. It’s a superpower in the art of disappointment
March 3, 20232 yr I was listening to ‘Raincatchers’ and it wouldn’t surprise if this is our entry as it does sound very Eurovision to me. If it is then I can’t see the point of releasing it a week early and it being a minute longer than it should be.
March 4, 20232 yr I was listening to ‘Raincatchers’ and it wouldn’t surprise if this is our entry as it does sound very Eurovision to me. If it is then I can’t see the point of releasing it a week early and it being a minute longer than it should be. Spaceman was also released two weeks prior to the announcement and it was 3:37 long. It's Birdy with 'Raincatcher', it's all but confirmed.
March 4, 20232 yr Spaceman was also released two weeks prior to the announcement and it was 3:37 long. It's Birdy with 'Raincatcher', it's all but confirmed. I’m not sure how it’s all but confirmed it’s Birdy. I haven’t seen anything to hint she’s is doing it apart from the song being released yesterday.
March 4, 20232 yr Raincatchers sounds decent and I can definitely hear the Kate Bush vibes (I guess it'd make sense after Running Up That Hill was so big last year, except that this is much more Cloudbusting than RUTH). With big dramatic staging (I'm thinking storm conditions, fog machines, rain, a few dancers crawling around) it could be big, but I'm still holding out hope for Rina.
March 4, 20232 yr From one listen Raincatchers sounds decent enough but not something that would set the competition alight, especially not the televote.
March 4, 20232 yr Birdy's is a good song, but it's not for Eurovision. But we don't have to worry, as we're gonna have a MIRACLE! :cheer:
March 4, 20232 yr I’m not sure how it’s all but confirmed it’s Birdy. I haven’t seen anything to hint she’s is doing it apart from the song being released yesterday. It seems I may have spoken out of turn... 👀

March 4, 20232 yr I've just heard 'Raincatchers' and I'd be very happy with that as our entry tbh, surely that would be left-hand side material
