Yeah, that's why I mentioned '10:35' specifically. Idk why I start singing that song when I want to go into 'I Wrote A Song'... I just do and I do think they're quite similar :lol:

 

I don't actually "hate" this sound, I just find it hard to get into it much and it ends up not being my thing. I think 'I Wrote A Song' is a cute bop and sounds so much more professional and "polished" than a LOT of our entries, for a while tbh. I think it even sounds better produced than Sam tbh. I just think I will be tired of it in 10 plays (just like every other song of that ilk) but maybe the Eurovision hype will help keep it afloat a little bit longer.

Great debut for Mae considering she'll also have the New Music Friday playlist push today which should help sustain her numbers.
At least if it’s a hit here and nothing else, it can help to remove the stigma that Eurovision is a career ruiner/can’t get a hit off it. Mae’s never even had a solo top 100 before this, let alone a #56 debut on streaming with less than 24 hours.
Wow that's fab for Mae. I expect it to drop off quickly and then come back bigger after the show but could you imagine taking an existing domestic hit into the contest for the first time since the late 90s, that would be amazing.

Is anyone else having issues with the Apple Music chart? Mine appears to be frozen/is the same as when I checked it yesterday evening.

No artist/songwriter wanted to go near the contest for years as they were rewarded with a #114 smash and losing their record deal, if writers/artists can almost be guaranteed a home hit and promo support from the BBC then it will encourage both artists and writers to put forward their best work, if Mae can sustain a career after ESC it will be seen as a great launch pad for artists after Sam done so well too.

 

 

The new Calvin & Ellie sounds MASSIVE. Proper old school trance vibes, definitely the song for summer. Expecting big numbers as there’s been lots of hype on tiktok for it too.

 

This, fully hoping this is the spark to inspire a trance revival tbh.

I’m actually not sure if it will fall really quickly, if NMF can keep this steady tomorrow then I think there’s a real chance Hot Hits U.K. pop this on and keep it in the top 200 at the very least.

 

With a number of playlists, I can see people listening to this who don’t even realise it’s connected to Eurovision.
