I had a few songs I gave an 8 to, with Little Star being one of them.

I think it's a really nice song about her daughter.

I think 'basic' is actually quite a good word to describe it. It's not awful or anything but I don't think the production works particularly well, it's the one song that sounds the least like it fits with the others on the album - albeit the lyrics are on theme I guess.

^ totally disagree

This song features one of my fav lines ever in a M song to her child ‘may the angels protect you and sadness forget you’!!

It is the one song on the album that Orbit didn’t have a hand in producing so that might explain that. I do really like the production though and think it suits the song, it’s all very sweet and has a lullaby quality to it. I love the lyrics - the one vibe pointed out being my highlight too. It’s a much lighter moment that’s very welcome at the end of the album.

Swim has never been performed live :(

I think Swim might have for a 7 from me.

It's okay but it is not one of the big album highlights

'Swim' is easily top 5 for me.

*edit - actually maybe it isn't looking at what's left, but it feels like it should be

I get this. There’s so many highlights on this album that Swim isn’t one I’d pick, but it’s an easy 9/10 for me so would be a highlight on a lesser album. 8th is just right for me. I really like how Drowned World begins with sub-water sounds and Swim begins with the sound of the tide, as if someone had emerged from the sea. It’s a lovely, chill track.

Definitely mid tier for me in terms of this album. I listened to the album again the other day and I was probably a little harsh on this one but it's definitely not up there with the many 10/10 tracks

'Swim' is perfection. I would have placed it a little higher but it's splitting hairs at this point.

The first placing I’ve strongly disagreed with, although I’m not surprised. The most sonically interesting song on the album, the production is amazing and I think it’s a perfect blend of all the various Madonna’s up to the point.
