Maybe not all indies taking part are chart return shops? Some of the indies are tiny and probably don’t sell big volumes in general.

Maybe some of the remaining stock was sold to foreign customers.

I thought that would still count as a sale here?

I think it's shops being slow reporting

actually it sold out already on Sat, so on Mon mids it should be 10K if everything sold out

but was 6.5K on Mon and 8.5K today so clearly sales are still being added

Just looking at their discography and EBTG have never had a top 3 album so a a number 1 almost 40 years into their careers would be great for them.

No, only counts towards to the UK charts if being shipped to a UK address.

^but Taylor's album was not sold online, was only sold in physical shops for rsd and sold out immediately

didn't have time to go to the Monday online sale like the 1975

Can anyone conform if the 15,000 copies x the 1975 were UK or worldwide? starting to think might be worldwide, hence the low UK sales so far.

It was definitely a part of Monday's online sales. I bought a copy from Banquet's online store and they certainly had lots of copies to sell, because it took quite a few minutes for it to sell out!

Copies were available online and some stores held them back (Rough Trade etc.,) to sell instore this week.

From the OCC.

The race for this week's UK Number 1 album is going to go right down to the wire.

Enter Shikari and Everything But The Girl are preparing to enter a photo-finish, with both acts battling for their first-ever chart-topper on the Official Albums Chart.

As it stands, and with less than 12 hours left to make your voice heard, Enter Shikari have just edged past Everything But The Girl once again, who were leading the race yesterday.

A Kiss For The Whole World, the seventh album from the Hertfordshire alt-rock quartet, is currently leading the race for Number 1. The gap is very tight though, with less than 400 chart units currently separating Enter Shikari from Fuse, Everything But The Girl's eleventh album, and their first together in 24 years.

There's all to play for in this week's race as both acts are hoping to score their first Number 1 album - so whoever you're backing, you've got until 11.59pm on Thursday 27 April to show your support.

They should also say, but don't forget streaming today makes no difference as its not counted!

Nooooo :/ How did Enter Shikari ddi 1K more than EBTG yesterday :/ must be some discount or something :/

They had a record store show on sale at some point yesterday.

That would explain it, cos they sold very little on Mon-Tue

Me continuing my flawless impression of someone who only knows one ES song from back when they were 14:

Well I basically love one song by both acts and have very limited knowledge of the rest of their discography. Kinda hoping EBTG do it though, given how significant it would be that far into their career.
Ah that's a shame that EBTG have fallen behind again. #2 is looking likely then and whilst I know it's a great result for them, it feels more anticlimactic now.
Maybe Taylor Swift will be number one this week.
