Sounds like you’ve been reading my Facebook posts 😅 Yes that is all correct. 1974, 2014 and 2022 are the only contests with 3 or more top 40 hits - 4 in 1974 and 2014, and 3 last year. So no, we’ve never had 3 Eurovision songs in the top 10 before - just 3 in the top 20 (in 1974) - though none overlapped in the top 10.

And on ABBA’s final two weeks in the top 20, they were joined by Gigliola Cinquetti and Mouth and MacNeal - in fact these three songs took turns in the top 10. 16 consecutive weeks in which Eurovision songs made the top 40.

 

In 2014, all 4 Eurovision songs peaked during the same week.

 

 

I'm not sure if there's even ever been three Eurovision songs in the top 10 together before.

 

In 1982 Nicole and Bardot were in the top 10 together, and in 1974 the Swedish, Dutch and Italian entries all made the top 10 (with the UK entry peaking at No.11) but not simultaneously.

 

2014 had four in the top 40.

 

And yes, 1982 was the last time that 2 Eurovision songs both made the top 10, and they happened to do so simultaneously.
