May 24, 20232 yr RIP Tina Turner… Expect Tina to occupy 3 songs in the top 10 next week…and many albums in the top 10 too… Really sad news. 🥺 She was a legend. I don’t think she will impact the singles chart much - partly because it is already Wednesday, and Thursday’s streams won’t count, and her streams will be in decline by Friday - but apart from that, I don’t feel her weekly streams and downloads would be sufficient to crack the top 10 - unless the focus turns to 1 track. Likewise, with the album charts. The attention currently seems to be on her greatest hits albums, so even though she had massive albums, I don’t think they will get sufficient attention to be in next week’s chart or this week’s chart. As for her greatest hits albums, one of them will be nominated to receive the streams - so she is likely to have one high charting, greatest hits album. Of course, I might be wrong in my predictions.

You’re more likely to see an album or two do well but singles wise it wouldn’t surprise me if she didn’t chart top 40 at all. edit: I’d love to be wrong though and see her make the singles chart Always think they should reset an artist's back catalogue to SCR as a mark of respect when they pass away, even if over 3 years old or at least let record company nominate tracks to do so. It would make the charts more interesting and act as a way of paying tribute. The tracks would almost inevitably decline 3 weeks in a row shortly afterwards so they wouldn't be on the charts for long.
