July 7, 20233 yr Lil Uzi Vert just about becoming the third artist of the year to land 3 new entries in the same week (4th if you count both Dave and Central Cee). Shame 'Suicide Doors' didn't make it, sadly expected that it fell behind 'Endless Fashion' but was hoping it'd sneak in over 'Aye' (must have been very close between those two I'd think). I guess 'Just Wanna Rock' fell short of a reset as I'd assume that'd be their 3rd or even 2nd song otherwise. At least 'Flooded The Face' is a banger. So close for ANOTR! (Who seems to have been demoted on the OCC website which now bills the song first to Abel Balder for some reason). Hope that still climbs the one extra place, seems at risk of becoming the next 'Still Sleepless', just as D.O.D finally has a top 40 hit funnily enough. Sorry I've been flopping with the top 100 polls again oop - gonna put up another 2 in 1 round this evening, both fairly scant weeks for new entries anyway.
July 7, 20233 yr I THINK these are all the top 10 singles to present with a country in the title - NB - I’m not including possessive words (e.g. English, American, Irish), I’m assuming America means the USA and not the continent in every example and I’m counting England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as separate countries in addition to the UK. 29/11/56 When Mexico Gave Up the Rhumba 03/09/59 China Tea 18/02/60 On a Slow Boat to China 28/08/71 Bangla Desh 31/08/74 Y Viva Espana 19/07/75 Barbados 27/11/76 Lost in France 15/01/77 Don’t Cry for Me Argentina 27/01/79 Don’t Cry for Me Argentina 28/07/79 Breakfast in America 16/08/80 Funkin’ for Jamaica 14/03/81 Kids in America 11/06/83 China Girl 15/09/84 Big in Japan 16/02/85 A New England 06/07/85 Born in the USA 08/02/86 Living in America 22/11/86 For America 29/11/86 French Kissin’ in the USA 28/11/87 Letter from America 07/03/92 (America) What Time Is Love 29/06/96 England’s Irie 14/12/96 Australia 28/12/96 Don’t Cry for Me Argentina 05/07/97 Ecuador 08/06/00 Uncle John from Jamaica 19/06/04 Born in England 19/06/04 Come On England 24/06/04 Hurry Up England 14/10/06 America 16/07/12 Princess of China 09/11/13 Show Me Love (America) 21/06/14 Noble England 24/05/18 This Is America 30/07/20 Greece 13/07/23 Pakistan Edited July 8, 20233 yr by chartjack2
July 7, 20233 yr Shocked there hasn't been a hit called 'Northern Ireland' :basil: Curious there were none which are a country name and nothing else (except 'America' if you count that) in 2000-2019 but 3 since. Although ofc 'Peru' is not actually named after the country.

July 7, 20233 yr They seem to have an aversion to playing maths-related songs on the chart. First Lil Mabu's Mathematical Disrespect and now Byron Messia's Tally!
July 7, 20233 yr Shocked there hasn't been a hit called 'Northern Ireland' :basil: If its any consolation, Belfast by Boney M got to number 8 !!
July 7, 20233 yr If its any consolation, Belfast by Boney M got to number 8 !! Counts as much as Lily Allen's 'LDN' I suppose :basil: :kink:
July 7, 20233 yr If its any consolation, Belfast by Boney M got to number 8 !! And Belfast Child by Simple Minds made #1 ofc :)
July 7, 20233 yr China in your hand? Unless we’re saying doesn’t count because the sense is nothing to do with the country.
July 7, 20233 yr I THINK these are all the top 10 singles from 1980 to present with a country in the title - NB - I’m not including possessive words (e.g. English, American, Irish), I’m assuming America means the USA and not the continent in every example and I’m counting England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as separate countries in addition to the UK. 16/08/80 Funkin’ for Jamaica 14/03/81 Kids in America 11/06/83 China Girl 15/09/84 Big in Japan 16/02/85 A New England 06/07/85 Born in the USA 08/02/86 Living in America 22/11/86 For America 29/11/86 French Kissin’ in the USA 28/11/87 Letter from America 07/03/92 (America) What Time Is Love 29/06/96 England’s Irie 14/12/96 Australia 28/12/96 Don’t Cry for Me Argentina 05/07/97 Ecuador 08/06/00 Uncle John from Jamaica 19/06/04 Born in England 19/06/04 Come On England 24/06/04 Hurry Up England 14/10/06 America 16/07/12 Princess of China 09/11/13 Show Me Love (America) 21/06/14 Noble England 24/05/18 This Is America 30/07/20 Greece 13/01/22 Peru 13/07/23 Pakistan If former countries (or former names) count there's Back In The USSR and In Zaire. And don't forget I Ran :D
July 7, 20233 yr If former countries (or former names) count there's Back In The USSR and In Zaire. And don't forget I Ran :D Only one of those 3 is a top 10 hit though  China in your hand? Unless we’re saying doesn’t count because the sense is nothing to do with the country. 'Peru' would be excluded as well by that logic.
July 7, 20233 yr OK, I’m going to exclude Peru because including China in Your Hand makes no sense! Zaire is a difficult one but I guess I’ll have to exclude it otherwise I’d also have to include Albion by Babyshambles etc
