September 6, 20232 yr Taylors label really have dropped the ball with cruel summer not doing anything, hopefully she keeps at 2 for a new peak at least
September 6, 20232 yr People keep saying this but truthfully I don't really think pushing 'Cruel Summer' is much of a priority for her at the moment :kink: it's doing fine on its own x
September 7, 20232 yr doing fine sure but could have been the song of the summer, like #1 for 10 weeks if released as a duete with somebody or at least 1 week at #1 if they had pulling physical singles, which sure they care about
September 7, 20232 yr Don't think the song would have suited a duet, I think all it needed was a video tbh.
September 7, 20232 yr People keep saying this but truthfully I don't really think pushing 'Cruel Summer' is much of a priority for her at the moment :kink: it's doing fine on its own xΒ Lots of songs βdo fine on their ownβ - a little helping hand of physicals to a fanbase that would snap them up can make a massive difference though.
September 7, 20232 yr Don't think the song would have suited a duet, I think all it needed was a video tbh.Β I think some house and drum & bass remixes would've done it, at least in this country. Plus it gives her fans the opportunity to download each separately thus contributing multiple sales each. And there's always the small chance they actually become popular which helps a LOT like with Cat Burns last year. And they can get the remixes on the dance playlists as well. September 7, 20232 yr downloads from remixes? it's 2023 not 2003 :)Β a duet would have worked 1000%Β Haha. Well I guess I'm biased against duets. I find most of them so lazy and cheap.Β I'm OK with it when it's like the Perfect remixes where they change the production and instrumental to make something new, in addition to adding a featured vocalist. But when it's just the original song with another singer on it for a verse and then singing background in the choruses I think they're not worth listening to.Β Taylor Swift did it with Bad Blood actually, the single version had a different instrumental, so I wouldn't mind when it's like that.
September 7, 20232 yr a duet with Olivia would have been genius, cos Olivia even used Cruel Summer as inspiration for her Deja Vu song but looks like thing are not so cool between Taylor-Olivia so that's why probably it didn't happen :D
September 7, 20232 yr like #1 for 10 weeks if released as a duete with somebody You are the King of exaggeration π
September 7, 20232 yr The thing is Taylor or her label don't need to do a thing as her albums are all doing huge worldwide at the moment, breaking records for simultaneous numbers of albums in the charts at the same time. Artists and labels only promote songs if they need to give the albums or indeed the artist's profile a boost. Taylor is the biggest and most ubiquitous artist in the world right now. I think this plea for extra promotion is just fans or stans wanting more number ones and even more chart achievements and milestones. Β Taylor I believe is happy to rest on her laurels and if a song from 2019 has found a new momentum, let it ride on that rather than deploy gimmicks that more desperate artists use to try and achieve even a fraction of Taylor's chart success or profile...
September 7, 20232 yr Kylie is going to achieve her second top 20 hit in 2023. πΒ It thought she was at 21 in the midweeksβ¦ Fingers crossed she makes it into the top 20π€
September 7, 20232 yr Lots of songs βdo fine on their ownβ - a little helping hand of physicals to a fanbase that would snap them up can make a massive difference though.Β I know she could do that (and it's a little surprising she hasn't given her history of shameless capitalism) but my point is she's clearly content for this one to be left as an organic hit and focus her energy into other things (i.e. her ongoing tour and the 1989 TV promo cycle).
September 7, 20232 yr It thought she was at 21 in the midweeksβ¦ Fingers crossed she makes it into the top 20π€ Sheβll have physicals still to be counted so Iβd imagine sheβll be comfortably top 20 come tomorrow
September 7, 20232 yr A guaranteed Top 20 for Kylie tomorrow. Β Her first studio album to yield consecutive Top 20 hits since 2010 :cheeseblock:
September 7, 20232 yr Yay so happy for kylie she truly deserves padam is in my top 5 most streamed songs this year
September 7, 20232 yr Apparently Kylie is around 2,800 copies ahead of no 20 so itβs very likely Tension will be her 47th top 20 hit π π
