September 7, 20232 yr I'm tempted to go completely off brand and actually send a ballad. I know it's BJSC suicide though because it's one of those things that everyone will probably think is kinda nice without really appealing strongly to anyone you’ve sent some gorgeous ballads before and won with them!!!
September 7, 20232 yr Ballads can go either way but it's worth a go as they can really surprise sometimes and I love hearing them in the contest. Hopefully you'll get an AQ too, which is always good for a risk!
September 7, 20232 yr Oh my I hadn't even considered there was a possibility that I could AQ!!!! you’ve sent some gorgeous ballads before and won with them!!! Actually yeah I guess VAULTS does count as one... this one doesn't really compare to that though, it's more of a low production 80s ballad. I'm going to listen to it a few more times and see if I think it's strong enough to get over the obvious lack of funding for production

I sent the one I referred to in my post (Radost Moja - 'Pej Solntse') earlier this year in 153 (it finished 13th) but I remember thinking at the time that it had felt like a while since it'd last been in the contest!

September 10, 20231 yr I think I've decided on my entry now after doing a lil bit of song searching the other night while it was too hot to sleep - I think I'm going to be venturing into a new subgenre and once again risking alienating everyone B-) (but I think it'll definitely stand out and I've kept going back to it since I discovered it so that has to count for something xx)
