Anyone been following this rapidly developing story? Basically, on the channel last night (which I despise with all of my heart but am familiar with as my aged parents unfortunately watch it :wacko: ) Dan Wooton (aka Martin Branning) whois under investigation for a lot of dodgy sex scandals himself and is a professional bully (particularly to Caroline Flack RIP and Meghan Markle) interviewed Laurence Fox (occasional presenter and fascist knobhead) last night to discuss comments made by a left wing commentator (Ava Santina) on another channel about men's mental health. Rather than discussing the issue, Fox instead went on a misogynistic rant avout her appearance saying that no one would sleep with her with Dan Wooton being a nodding dog and laughing along. This did not play well with viewers (understandably) and due to fear of Ofcom and other backlash, after an extremely quick investigation, Laurence Fox has been suspended.

 

Dan Wooton has gone down the "It wasn't me" apologising route (although the laughing along with Fox is pretty grotesque). Could this be the scandal that gets BOTH of these evil men off air for good? Couldn't have happened to a nicer pair.

 

In all seriousness, this channel has been churning out complete fascist crap (some presenters worse than others it has to be said) from the get go but increasing rapidly in the last year. Worryingly, there are several current Tory MPs moonlighting as presenters which is a complete conflict of interest.

People should've stopped giving these parasites attention a long time ago. Laurence Fox in particular is pathetic in how he has turned into a right wing troll because his music and acting career dried up (see his recent display in Pride month...).

Good news. Branning/Wooton or whatever his name is today has been suspended too. He had already lost 2 of his 3 jobs (poison writer for the Mail/Sun) when the disturbing allegations came out in.the Byline Times.

 

Get rid of the cosplay homophobic vicar (Calvin Robinson) and deranged dangerous arch conspiracy theorist (Neil Oliver) if they even want to have a chance if being mainstream - oh and those Tory MPs too.

I'm pleased that they've both been suspended, hopefully it will lead to both being sacked but given the 'standards' that GBNews has I won't hold up too much hope, apparently Dan's binfire of a show pulls in the most viewers for some bizarre reason, maybe they tune in to see if he can go an entire show without blinking. In the case of Dan Wootton in particular it is especially long overdue, the channel have done nothing to address all of the very serious and credible allegations (including of blackmail) published by Byline Times and others against him. He's a bully, a throughly toxic person and frankly doesn't deserve the platform he has. Apparently he was calling Ava repeatedly after the show went out and left a voicemail at 1am, this despite the fact that she had never given him her number.

Ava is a respected journalist first and foremost. Critique or oppose her views by all means, but the way she was just reduced to her appearance (even Dan did with his 'defence' of Laurence's comments) was awful, and there was absolutely no effort to seriously discuss what she had said, she was simply attacked for her views and the whole segment simply used as a vehicle for their misogyny.
