I do like the idea of having volunteers to host and have people vote on hosting bids tbf, but yes how far down the line should the hosting rights be awarded in case people pass would save time trying to sort everything out.

Maybe just put the confirmations thread up straight away for the next contest rather than doing a green room period as well, since a lot of discussion has gone on in here anyway, maybe take the break this month instead of December if the hosting duties really are that much of an issue, I think going down the top ten would be fine, not big on the volunteer idea as we've got spin offs and stuff for that anyway

The mods could put up a google form for confirmations now. If there are any vetoes, they could send out PMs until a host is found.

Either that or postpone the contest until November as Lindsey has suggested.

I can't decide on the dates for the Club Bizarre contest until I know what's happening with this one.

I’m currently laptop-less on holiday in Tenerife and trying to push things on as quickly as I can, whilst understandably not wanting to be glued to my phone.

Still with the intention of getting this started in the next few days. I can feel the frustration here but I don’t want you thinking I’m just not doing anything out of laziness, I’m actually just on holiday for my anniversary which is taking priority :lol:

I’ve just sent another message out to someone with the hope of getting at least one of two members in the next 24 hours so we can get things started early this coming week.

Whilst we all appreciate what you’re doing Rob, and don’t want to spoil your holiday, could you not have simply delegated to LexC or Silas to cover for you? It seems unfair to you to still be in this position during your personal time away. I’m not sure if Bré could have took over this search for you during your absence as it’s unreasonable to expect you to be checking your inbox for replies whilst you’re celebrating an occasion.

It's really not that serious? Surely we can be patient whilst Rob is away? :lol:

BJSC will be "off schedule" for no more than 2 weeks I imagine?? :lol: surely that's enough to make it back so you still get a bit of a gap in December and then start again earlier in January?

Lets say if the dates for this month was originally intended to be 8th - 14th Confirmations, 15th - 21st Semi's, 22nd - 28th Final and then the final contest of the year in November was 12th - 18th Confirmations, 19th - 25th Semi's, 26th - 2nd Dec Final.

You'd still probably find time to get those contests done with a week or so still to go for Christmas & you still get some of that Christmas break and start afresh in January? :lol:

We can just be patient.

The process usually works fine, however it is now getting to a point where most people have hosted already so it just happens to have been an issue this month. The mods are sorting it and also thinking about what this means for the process in future. I’m sure something will be resolved very soon.
