Originally released in 1987 and peaking at 2 is The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl's 'Fairytale Of New York' which you'd assume would last longer in one of these but because it's not Christmas season (for another two months) sees the door earlier. Controversy surrounding a certain word or two didn't help matters with some either. It returned to the singles chart in 2005 back when it was primarily based on physicals and went top 3 then hence why it did so well to feature in the year end for that year. Then every year since it has been a perennial fave for the public in downloads and then streaming but unlike Wham or Mariah who never got to #1 until they finally topped the chart in recent years.. The Pogues are yet to scratch that 2 peak off the history books!

Poor Pogues :( (I get the reasoning though).

 

Think I'll switch to J Lo for this round as she looks to go. I don't mind it but not one of her best either imo.. would say Booty Luv and Vanessa Carlton are my other two choices for the chop. All kinda interchangeable.

I know I'm Real is on the way out but I've always quite liked it, so I'll go for Boogie2nite, which I've always found overrated.
The J-Lo solo I’m Real is rubbish but I do like the Ja Rule version. Nonetheless it’s either that or Bootie Luv for me me, followed by Vanessa. Might hold off voting for a day or so and see how it’s shaping up!

Pretender once again, surprised more people aren't voting it.

 

It's my 2nd Fave here ;) I do think it's one of their better efforts overall though. The follow up was also great, 'Long Road To Ruin'.

Well 'Fairytale Of New York' was my fave on here but obviously understand why it has its detractors ~

 

Yay that it looks like I'll finally be able to move on from JLo after this round :magic:

 

'The Pretender' is my favourite Foo Fighters song! (2nd fave of what's left in this poll after Panjabi MC)

Definitely J-Lo now, and I don't actually even mind it. Everything else remaining is great.

Between Foo Fighters and Panjabi MC to go for me - never got into either

Boogie2Nite gets too much criticism here, such a banger :(
