Strange that Fred Again's 'Ten' has been removed after just two weeks on the playlist.

I thought they might give Olivia Rodrigo an insta-add, but maybe they won't bother with it seen as it's just a soundtrack song?

Not too fussed about any of the new adds this week, Taylor aside.

Looks a bit uneventful this week but nice to see that Barry Can't Swim song and Taylor both making C list (not that Taylor wasn't not going to obviously)!

I wouldn't be surprised if they give 'Now And Then' a few spot plays here and there but I doubt young people care about The Beatles sadly :(

Number.1 but they are adding her only to C-list,

Not surprising but I'd never understand their logic.

Anyway apart from that, boring week.

They should have added the Beatles :/ and Taylor only C-list boo, when they add all kind of track to the A-list week in week out

I don’t think this could be further from the truth. A lot of young people appreciate music from acts like the Beatles and other older artists. The kids I speak to in school who would actually list music as an interest listen to all sorts. It’s just not what Radio 1 think young people would be into.

Beatles could get C-listed for a couple of weeks if they hold up well enough on streaming and there's public pressure for R1 to playlist them - they were never going to playlist them right away without knowing how the song would be generally received.

And yes I'd say there is clearly a lot of cross-generational appeal with legacy bands like Beatles (plus Abba, Fleetwood Mac, Queen etc.) they wouldn't have huge streaming presence just from the over 40s crowd.

Yes, of course there's some cross-generational appeal with legacy artists but I still maintain that the majority of young people won't be interested in listening to 'Now And Then' beyond maybe a curiosity stream.

Radio 1 playlisting will help The Beatles career immensely

Just as Kanye West did for Paul McCartney a near decade ago when he was a struggling up and coming artist no one had ever heard of

the best music!

that’s the one thing missing from this song really, imagine how many albums they could have sold if DJ Khaled produced them, because of course unlike whatever the Beatles (sic) made, DJ Khaled makes albums so people can play it, and you actually hear it. You know, drive in your car, you hear another car playin it? Go to the barber shop, hear them playin' it? You know, turn the radio on, you hear them playin' it? You know, it's playin' everywhere. It's called great music. It's called albums that you actually hear the songs. Not no mysterious shit, and you never hear it.

Omg THIS.

Let's face it, DJ Khaled could make 'Tomorrow Never Knows' but The Beatles could never make 'All I Do Is Win'.
